We recently connected with Terri Pacifico and have shared our conversation below.
Terri, looking forward to hearing all of your stories today. One of the things we most admire about small businesses is their ability to diverge from the corporate/industry standard. Is there something that you or your brand do that differs from the industry standard? We’d love to hear about it as well as any stories you might have that illustrate how or why this difference matters.
Often in corporate America customers get lost behind a dollar sign or a sales number. My customers are so much more. They are valued and important. I have become quite close with them; so close that they will text me late evening hours or call early Sunday morning; knowing I answer every time. When they stop in it’s like we are hanging out like old friends. They know I will give my honest opinion And never let them look less than the next top model. I don’t just sell clothes I style them help them build confidence, and positivity. It takes a small amount of compasión and caring to make someone’s day. My purpose in this industry is to create a style for every story. and put a smile on every face.
Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers.
I have always had a passion for encouraging and advising women to feel good about themselves. After being a nurse for many years while that was very fulfilling, I had always had a passion for fashion and helping women to look as good as they feel. So, I began my journey in March of 2021 and set out to start my own business as a fashion stylist slash women’s clothing boutique owner. I left my full-time career as a nurse to fulfill a longtime dream. What better way to have the best of both worlds the enjoyment of making those around me smile and creating a style for every story. I started off attending weekly and monthly markets around town encouraging and styling those around me. It wasn’t long before I was approached by a businessman who was willing to take a chance on a small business like mine. He was opening a location inside a brand-new mall that he himself had just opened in hopes of helping small businesses in the area. This was how I was able to open my first store location in such a short period of time. Dreams come true through passion, drive, and sometimes a little help from others who may have walked your steps before
How did you build your audience on social media?
I am going to be perfectly honest I was never a fan of social media until starting a business. friends and family told me that was the best way in promoting my small business. What better way to get free exposure . It’s free marketing for those who are just starting out. I had no idea how to use social media so everything for me has been a learning experience, I’ve watched YouTube videos asked questions got a lot of advice from family and friends learning the ins and outs music,,vocabulary ,editing ,lighting the list goes on and on.. Nothing worth wild is ever easy you must be dedicated and persistent and never give up. You will always have challenges when learning something new. For me social media was and is still a learning process ; every day you learn something new. One thing I have learned is don’t worry about how many followers you have it’s the quality not the quantity.
How’d you build such a strong reputation within your market?
Reputation is the key to any successful business. Anyone can start a business, It is word of mouth that could make you or break you. Your reputation is everything. I have always been honest and truthful . I live by honesty and integrity and my customers appreciate that, They know I will always give my honest opinion and I am never fake. Clothing boutiques pop up everyday you need to stand out and be different given the most positive and exceptional experience ever. People remember an experience good or bad, so always provide the best and nothing less.
