We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Terri Bonin a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.
Hi Terri, thanks for joining us today. Was there a defining moment in your professional career? A moment that changed the trajectory of your career?
I can’t help but share with other women those nuggets in health and business that have changed the trajectory of my life.
It’s pretty simple.
When something works for me,
I share it.
This in turn changes someone else life and they do the same. Call it an accidental business but that’s how my business got started.

Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers.
My husband and I have 11 children. As you can imagine, we’ve experienced many different health scenarios with so many kids over the years. Hoping to keep everyone healthy, I studied nutrition, herbs and oils in order to avoid running to the doctor every week with a different child.
You could say my family has been training ground. I’ve learned so much. While I don’t have all the answers I know how to find answers and use food, oils and herbs for wellness.
I began teaching other women several years ago now I have a strong team of women who also enjoy keeping their families healthy with food, oils and herbs and we all teach other women to do the same.
It’s true networking.
Young Living is the company I choose to represent because I’ve seen the most success with their supplements and oils. Their products have seriously been life changing for my family.

Any advice for growing your clientele? What’s been most effective for you?
My favorite way to meet and help women is through vendor events and in home gatherings. I enjoy in person exchanges more than on line because women can see, touch, taste, and smell the products when we are together. Putting these life changing products in the hands of women is the quickest way for them to understand the power in the oils.
I enjoy teaching on my social media, but I do it as a support to those women I meet in person. One whiff of sacred frankincense and they know they are holding something special.
Any advice for managing a team?
Managing a team is definitely the most challenging part of a business like mine because everyone is their own boss which is both the best and the hardest part of the business. One must be a good boss giving herself breaks when needed and holding herself accountable to work.
I set the pace by showing up 6 days a week, leading team calls and checking in on my team members. Like all business numbers ebb and flow with the seasons and with the economy. it’s important to keep that in mind when you are a small business owner. Only those people who give up, end up failing.
