We recently connected with Terrelle Harper and have shared our conversation below.
Terrelle, thanks for taking the time to share your stories with us today Risking taking is a huge part of most people’s story but too often society overlooks those risks and only focuses on where you are today. Can you talk to us about a risk you’ve taken – it could be a big risk or a small one – but walk us through the backstory.
The biggest risk I took was when I decided to become an entrepreneur and business owner over seven years ago. This journey hasn’t left any boxes unchecked as it relates to sacrifice, endurance, and commitment. After years of working in Med spa’s and partnering with colleagues, January 2021 I decided to take the leap of faith of total independence and become a solopreneur. This was the best decision I’ve ever made for me, my family, and my business. Terrelle’s Spa & Wellness has soared beyond my desired goals and created the freedom I’ve always desired as a wife and mother.
The formula to my success was timing. Everything I’ve done to work on my craft simply prepared me for the businesswoman I am today. Gaining those experiences by working for other business owners and franchises, allowed timing for professional development.
The biggest lesson I learned about being a risk taker, is you will be afraid of the unknown, but jump anyway. I did it scared, and I didn’t feel prepared. I’m so happy that I faced my fears and took a bet on me. In one year, I tripled my salary and put more time into my family. Take the risk, it may be the best decision of your life.

Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers
My first career was education and mental health therapy. Then I transitioned into makeup where I landed an opportunity on a movie-set. Mastering making women and men look flawless, I realized there were a lot of people suffering with skin challenges that I did not have the answer to. As aforementioned, coming from the field of therapy, my natural skillset was getting to the root of problems. I wanted people to have options and not be forced to cover their skin. This brought me into skincare. I wanted to find a way to marry both of my careers, makeup and skincare. Today I’ve become one of the top corrective skincare experts in Atlanta, GA, specifically in the areas of Acne and hyperpigmentation.
How did you build your audience on social media?
I’ve built my audience on social media by word of mouth and brand ambassadors. I have one specific Brand Ambassador whose content around my skillset helped my business to excel very quickly. I would advise to take pictures and videos daily and stay present with your followers. It’s really difficult to not succeed when your business is result driven and cosistent.

What’s a lesson you had to unlearn and what’s the backstory?
The lesson I had to unlearn is expecting the people in your life to be your biggest supporters. I’ve built the bulk of my business off complete strangers. My closet friends and family began to trickle in years later and by the this happened I was established and unoffended.
