We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Terrance Juwon. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Terrance below.
Terrance, looking forward to hearing all of your stories today. We love heartwarming stories – do you have a heartwarming story from your career to share?
I’ve had the privilege of training various groups and individuals from athletes, to military, and law enforcement; however my heart is with the disabled community. I like to refer to them as Superheroes.

Terrance, love having you share your insights with us. Before we ask you more questions, maybe you can take a moment to introduce yourself to our readers who might have missed our earlier conversations?
Hi I’m Terrance Juwon, fitness trainer, bodybuilder, and founder of Gymdorks Fitness LLC. I am also an Air Force Veteran and I provide in-person and online fitness coaching, performance motivation, and weight loss transformation/management strategies to adolescence, adults, and care-givers. I’ve had the privilege of training various populations from athletes, military/law enforcement, seniors, and the general population; however, my heart is my the disabled population (whom I like to call Superheroes). I am on a mission to fully integrate the disabled population into the entire fitness community.
I am a disabled Veteran and I truly enjoy working with people with medically controlled physical/behavioral disabilities and severe injury post rehabilitation. This is includes family involvement, usually caregivers, which increases long-term success.
I hold advance certifications and degrees in Exercise Science, and currently pursing my PhD in Exercise and Sport Science.

If you could go back in time, do you think you would have chosen a different profession or specialty?
This is a great questions! As I have thought about this from time to time over 17 years of personal training, I always come to the same conclusion – YES!
I can give you countless stories that made me realize that I never chose this profession, it chose me! I have gone through some of the worst times with this profession, but it has also held me down through the worst times. My advice, if any, is to keep working on your craft (educations, certifications, seminars, etc..), and to be creative.

Putting training and knowledge aside, what else do you think really matters in terms of succeeding in your field?
I believe that creativity and flexibility has been extremely valuable in the sustainment of my field. For example, during quarantine and gyms/studios were closed due to the pandemic, I had to think outside the box and get creative with my services to sustain. Because I did not give up and kept pressing forward, new ideas brewed and were executed.
