We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Terrance Disman a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.

Terrance , appreciate you joining us today. Alright – so having the idea is one thing, but going from idea to execution is where countless people drop the ball. Can you talk to us about your journey from idea to execution?

Well, I started my company because a close friend of mine at the time got locked up for murder, and it wanted me to create alternative options for people in life. So my friend NeyQuam was an artist, and I wanted to help spread the word about his newest project dropping, so I had an iPhone and an idea for an interview. From there, we went to a random hotel parking lot and shot it, with his little brother helping us record. From there, I had to figure out a logo, and I went on to create what you see today, Cutty TV. We uploaded our first video on September 25th, 2015. The iconic NeyQuam interview.

Terrance , before we move on to more of these sorts of questions, can you take some time to bring our readers up to speed on you and what you do?

I am Cutty, and I like to consider my company a platform for people to be heard and discovered. I got into this industry because I have a love for independent artists and creatives. We are all chasing our dreams and just want to be seen and recognized; that’s what we focus on. We want to create ways for you to be seen by the world so they can support your dope talent. We provide plenty of services for independent artists alongside creatives focusing on visuals, marketing, and promotion. We can provide anything you need in those three aspects, for sure. The thing I would want to leave with you guys the most is that we are a platform straight out of Jersey representing people all over the world, and I invite you to come see the dope talent we have come across. We know you’ll love someone. Cutty TV has grown to many heights, already creating a blog in 2020 called Jersey Watch Blog, representing over 100+ artists all across the country. We have covered some of the biggest independent events all across the country and only plan to keep going. We have cultivated over 100+ interviews on YouTube for you to check out, from music artists to Marvel movie producers. We have created an app on all app stores called Studio View, which is officially out now. We created Studio View to allow you to book studio time anywhere in the country directly from your phone. We are the first location based studio booking app of our kind where we are from. We are proud to bring you guys a life changing experience with booking studio time in the future. We made it so that when you are on the road, you can find studios anywhere around you. We know how hard it is to drive to a new city without knowing where the studio is. So we created a way to fix that issue forever.

Is there a particular goal or mission driving your creative journey?

My honest first goal is my first million, I want to show my family that it is possible. I am the first business owner in my family and they have seen the real grind behind it, like going broke more than once for a dream. I know I can show them one day it was all for this, so we can replicate and duplicate this for generations so we no longer working paycheck to paycheck but actually making millions off of what you love to do everyday. I am the generational change, I feel it.

How about pivoting – can you share the story of a time you’ve had to pivot?

I knew my career had taken a turn when I started to get noticed by people who didn’t know me. I would walk down the street, and people would literally jump out of the car to say what’s up to me. I knew I was impacting more people than just myself. I could feel the energy in the room; you weren’t just a regular person anymore. It honestly makes me feel limitless. If a kid like me who comes from a small town makes an impact in the big city of Philadelphia, I can change the world.
