We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Teri Cochrane. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Teri below.
Alright, Teri thanks for taking the time to share your stories and insights with us today. What’s the backstory behind how you came up with the idea for your business?
I wanted to be that mother for other mothers that was told their child was broken . This was almost 20 years ago. Since then I have continued to make pioneering discoveries and now had developed The Cochrane Method. The Cochrane Method® is a precision wellness model that approaches health through a lens of true bio-individuality. This methodology captures the complex nature of the individual by assessing the body through four portals of epigenetic expression. Using an algorithmic analysis with a nutrigenomic and epigenetic underpinning, our method produces a universal assessment to locate the why of any imbalance. We work with complex and chronic illnesses and have served top athletes, singers, luminaries, and those in Hollywood. This method now also informs a longevity model through a cutting-edge mastermind of longevity experts including Dr. David Sinclari. l.
Although our method is intricate, it is elegantly simple in its execution. With The Cochrane Method®, health, vitality and longevity can be achieved for every individual, at every stage of life.
Teri , before we move on to more of these sorts of questions, can you take some time to bring our readers up to speed on you and what you do?
I’m Teri Cochrane, the founder of Teri Cochrane – Beyond Nutrition, an international thought leader in longevity and a pioneer in personalized wellness. I’m also a mother of two, an entrepreneur and, some say, a spiritual scientist. Through my decades of clinical work and unprecedented client results, I have developed my own approach to integrative health that focuses on the ever-shifting needs of the individual. My practitioner model, The Cochrane Method®, examines the intersection of genetic tendencies, energy, and my clients’ current state of health to untangle even the most complex health conditions in an average of three consultations. My motto: whatever your condition, we will figure you out – simply & elegantly.
As a dedicated clinician, advisor and speaker, my penchant for curious observation has made me an ever-evolving scientist. My children’s health crises led me to develop my own clinical model. My clinical model led me to develop my own lifestyle and wellness approach, The Wildatarian® Diet. When I saw a hole in the marketplace of wellness and supplementation, I was called to create my own line of gene-smart supplements, always seeking a better version of what exists – if what exists isn’t good enough. I advise world-class athletes, top singers, and Hollywood stars, and some of the top doctors and influencers around the world, offering both clinical advice as well as my gifts as a medical intuitive to help maximize their human potential. Some consider me the “doctor’s doctor”. Although I am a simple m spiritual scientist.
Have you ever had to pivot?
Affter a 20-year career working as a risk manager in institutional and real estate finance, and being a leader of a business unit at one of the nation’s largest financing systems companies, my son’s illness at a young age led me to change course & explore the world of nutrition, epigenetics and integrative medicine in search of a solution to his complex health challenges.
I had broken glass ceilings at Freddie Mac, being the first ever to run a business unit with five functional areas reporting to me as a job share arrangement. They wanted me to run that unit, I had two small children, and they knew my value so they asked me to get creative. I did. I created the first-ever job share arrangement at that level in the company’s history. It was hugely successful and I was poised to continue my fast trajectory at the institution. Then a family crisis occurred.
By age three, my son was suffering from failure to thrive, had the bone density of an 18-month-old, and barely spoke. Life-threatening asthma, bleeding eczema and routine hospitalizations dominated our day-to-day lives, and in the second grade, he contracted strep throat 11 times.
Faced with what felt like an impossible challenge, I went to work, applying my risk management skills to save my son’s life.
I poured over every book and resource I could find on holistic and integrative health. T Through careful, dedicated research I was able to untangle the root causes of my son’s ill health. What I discovered astounded me. After 5 years down this rabbit hole as I saw my son’s health slowly return, I decided to leave this career despite my success and accolades… I had this deep knowing that something else was calling me to be that voice for others that were told their child was broken.
My son was my first and most important client, and this way of thinking has inspired me to take this approach with every one of my clients. s. The rest, as they say, is herstory!
