Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Teresa Young. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Teresa, looking forward to hearing all of your stories today. We’re complete cheeseballs and so we love asking folks to share the most heartwarming moment from their career – do you have a touching moment you can share with us?
I am a Recovering Alcoholic and have a Diagnosis of Deression. I suffered in Silence until now. I wrote a book about my Journey. Now I help people by sharing my story.
Awesome – so before we get into the rest of our questions, can you briefly introduce yourself to our readers.
I cater to African Americans who suffer in silence with Alcohol and Depression. I also speak about how racism is still very much in existence in America and how it sometimes crippled me being a Black Nurse.
Training and knowledge matter of course, but beyond that what do you think matters most in terms of succeeding in your field?
The Love of People and not being afraid to uncover me. I can’t have secrets if I want people to trust me also, it gives haters less or no Power to destroy what you love doing.

Learning and unlearning are both critical parts of growth – can you share a story of a time when you had to unlearn a lesson?
That the CDC, Government, and Pharmacy are Liars and can’t be trusted. Before I became a nurse I believed what I heard now, I believe what I know.
