We recently connected with Teresa Williams and have shared our conversation below.
Teresa, looking forward to hearing all of your stories today. Can you open up about a risk you’ve taken – what it was like taking that risk, why you took the risk and how it turned out?
I am Licensed Professional Counselor who went through a horrible divorce several years ago due to my ex-husband’s infidelity. While I was away on a business trip the mistress stayed in my house for the entire week! He allowed her to put her clothes in my drawers, hang her clothes in my closet and even let her drive my car! The kicker was that she was 20 yrs younger.
I had hired a private investigator and had photos and videos. It was devastating! I asked for a divorce immediately. We were divorced less than 3 months later.
I did my own work with a therapist and began to rebuild my life. This wasn’t easy but I began to love single life. In fact, I became resilient and openly shared by journey with others.
The risk I took, was implementing a program for women who was either going through a divorce or who was divorced. For you see, there wasn’t anything like this when I divorced and I felt very alone. So, I wanted to offer my wisdom and support to other women who may be walking this journey.
This program is not a “bitching” nor an “ex-husband bashing” program. It is one where women can find hope and healing after divorce. The main goal is to assist women to grow and become resilient.
The program is called Confident and Courageous Woman – Reclaiming You! It is a virtual program and I have women from all over the country who have joined. It has been a life changing experience to see less ladies become hopeful again.
I am truly blessed to offer this program to women.

As always, we appreciate you sharing your insights and we’ve got a few more questions for you, but before we get to all of that can you take a minute to introduce yourself and give our readers some of your back background and context?
I help women find clarity, confidence, and balance in everyday living. I work to put words and order to the struggles and chaos of previous or current struggles. Coaching can get our feet on the ground when we are helpless and desperate.
With compassion and understanding, I help women rediscover their passion and purpose in life. I am honored to sit with women in a variety of crises, life stages, relationship struggles, and painful situations. I am thankful to be a practical and hopeful voice.
I’ve lived through many significant life transitions, moves, mindset shifts, and habit overhauls. I am certainly not perfect, but now I approach life differently…I have embodied a new way of thinking and a new way of living.
I currently serve amazing women like you! Women who are on a mission to face their fears, unpack the barriers to growth, develop unwavering confidence, and step into lives that are more aligned with their goals and desires.
I am a therapist, coach, conference speaker, and podcast host.
My training includes:
Master of Science in Mental Health Counseling
Licensed Professional Counselor
Certified Professional Life Coach
In my spare time, I enjoy reading a good book, taking a hike, listening to live music, playing with my dog Ollie, and traveling with my husband.
What’s a lesson you had to unlearn and what’s the backstory?
The lesson I needed to unlearn through my journey was that I would never make it alone. For you see, my ex-husband told me over and over that I needed him to “make it” on my own. In truth, I was enough! I realized that I had everything I needed to not only make it but to be the very best version of me.
Let’s talk about resilience next – do you have a story you can share with us?
I believe that resilience is not focusing on your past but being future focused. I can not change my past. I can only learn from it. However, what I do have control of is my present and the choices I make today. When I focus is on where I want to go in the future, my present will help me to make that happen.
In essence, that is what I have chosen to do in my journey to become resilient after divorce.
