We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Teresa Shantz a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.
Teresa, thanks for taking the time to share your stories with us today Was there a defining moment in your professional career? A moment that changed the trajectory of your career?
My defining moment in my journey is when I realized how sensitive/empathic I am and how this has affected my whole life. Growing up in a challenging (alcoholic) family I was very affected by the energies of others, their actions, and the environment. As a young person I was afflicted with skin disorders and auto-immune symptoms, which carried on until my mid 40’s. There was a defining moment in 2017 when I attended a spiritual conference and had many “aha” moments that illuminated how sensitive/empathic I am and how to move forward in a new light. I experienced multiple deja vu memories of past lives and clarity on how to strengthen my energetic field and begin discerning what is me and what is not me. Since this event, I shifted my whole life (divorced after 29 years married) to walk down a path of supporting others in realizing that they are a soul in a physical body and how amazing life can be when a person understands the “unseen” spiritual parts of their life.

As always, we appreciate you sharing your insights and we’ve got a few more questions for you, but before we get to all of that can you take a minute to introduce yourself and give our readers some of your back background and context?
Coming back into another physical body without a road map, led me back on a path to understand about how sensitive we all are while we exist on this planet. I grew up in southern California, went into the US Air Force at 17, lived in Germany for three years, moved to Florida for 29 years, and now live in the midwest of America. All of these places served as a stepping stone of discovery and unfoldment to understanding the spiritual part of myself and put together pieces of who I am as a soul.
As I maneuvered through life I used to call myself a “hot energetic mess.”. This mess stemmed from not understanding how to work with my energy field, not knowing that I had a team of Spiritual Helpers that work with me my whole life, and not understanding about how my psychic sensitivities play a major role in all the hunches, insights and impressions that I pick up on everyday. By following the dotted lines of my life, I was able to uncover why things happened to me, why past lives showed up for healing, and why others around me are a mirror for what is going on inside of me.
Through an ongoing exploration of twists and turns I began the podcast Enthusiastically Spiritual in 2020 while stuck in Australia during the first part of the pandemic. The podcast offers my listeners an opportunity to gather insights, support, and hear from others around the world who have moved through life and found how to work with the mind, body, and spirit parts of their journey. I like to call the podcast mini-morsels of spiritual truths brought to the listeners in bite sized pieces to enjoy every week.
Besides the podcast in June of 2023 I am birthing my first book The Soul Quake Survival Guide: Reviving Your Connection to Spirit in Earth-Shaking Times. This rich read is for explorative empaths who want spiritual support through life’s obstacles, even if you don’t understand what you’re going through, and just how powerful you are in reawakening your psychic sensitivities. This book is a journey through 12 Spiritual Awarenesses that can support the reader as they make their way through challenges and obstacles that life throws their way.
In 2017 I came together with my soulmate Tom and in 2018 we started T & T Spirit Enterprises, LLC. Then in 2018 we birthed our website TNTSpiritWorks.com, which is a place that sensitive people can go to and find ways that they can be supported through spiritual masterclasses/events, expos/fairs, spiritual counseling sessions and so much more. The purpose behind TNT is to support others in making Spirituality practical and supporting them as they learn to work with their own abilities. This allows each person to pave their own path and be able to get their own answers for life’s questions. As a former FBI agent(Tom) and a former US Air Force personnel(me), both Tom and I are “normal,” whatever normal is, people sharing with others the importance of working with Spirit and enjoying life along the way.
What sets me apart from other leaders in the Spiritual field is that I don’t play in the “woo-woo” field. There is no “magic” in what I offer others, but just clarity on how to walk through a world accessing the spiritual part of life and embracing more enthusiasm no matter what life throws their way.
I am most proud of the connection with Spirit that has led me to be right here right now in this moment of the journey. In staying present and supporting others on their paths supports a win-win-win scenario (win for them, win for me, and a win for spirit). I am also proud of honoring the unique way that each of us shows up for life. Being able to uniquely create an offering that I love and showing others how to embrace their soul’s essence is something that I am passionate about and love exploring this every day.

Can you tell us about a time you’ve had to pivot?
My pivot moment came in 2012. This was a time when I was in the midst of an auto-immune disorder that wreaked havoc through my skin. I was a Massage Therapist at the time and ultimately had to close my practice due to both hands being completely broken out and unusable. Little did I realize at the time that this shift in my business would start a five year process to leave my marriage of 29 years, and thrust me forward into the spiritual work that I am currently unfolding in my life.
When I closed my practice in 2012, it gave me space to “literally” clear things out of my life. I accessed inner guidance, even though I didn’t have the words for the greater power that led me, to shift one thing after another that ultimately led me to meeting a soul in 2017.

We’d love to hear a story of resilience from your journey.
Following spirit even when I didn’t know I was following spirit has been something that I was doing since I was young. I grew up in an alcoholic, co-dependent family. We moved around when I was in High School and I found myself going to three different High Schools. By the end of the last one I was done with school and didn’t know what the future forward would bring for me. That was when I found the military.
I found myself attending an assembly that was given by a few members of the Army and Air Force. Honestly, I made my way to this event to relieve myself from classes for several hours. The presentation lit me up inside and I found myself signing up to take the ASVAB test not too long afterwards. After going through testing I enlisted and two weeks before my 18th birthday I left for bootcamp. This decision to enlist started a journey that was absolutely spirit led. Moment after moment happened in those three years that offered deep healing within me and created space that supported the next steps in my life.
In looking back, going into the Air Force was a gutsy move for myself, but it also showed me how resilient my soul was in putting myself in the right place at the right timing for future events to transpire.
