We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Teresa “MiZZ Entertainment” Edwards. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Teresa “MiZZ Entertainment” below.
Hi Teresa “MiZZ Entertainment” , thanks for joining us today. Risking taking is a huge part of most people’s story but too often society overlooks those risks and only focuses on where you are today. Can you talk to us about a risk you’ve taken – it could be a big risk or a small one – but walk us through the backstory.
Becoming an entrepreneur is one of the biggest but most rewarding risks you can ever take. My husband and I are both passionate about music. We are what you may call…eclectic when it comes to music. We love different types of music. But the one thing we totally agreed upon was that our mission was to create good music one beat at a time. So that’s when we decided to share our passion with the world by starting a production company with a special focus on the independent artists. There are so many creative people out there without the big budget of a studio to support them. We felt that your creative dream should not depend on how deep are your pockets. We work with our clients taking the fear out of dreaming and making it a reality. And when once you are a client, you become family. It’s been a challenging road…but well worth the travel.
As always, we appreciate you sharing your insights and we’ve got a few more questions for you, but before we get to all of that can you take a minute to introduce yourself and give our readers some of your back background and context?
As the co-owner of Terror Dome Entertainment, we take the fear out of dreaming and turn it into an AMAZING reality. Whether you sing, do spoken word, act, or like podcasting…Terror Dome Entertainment is your All Things Entertainment company. We provide services for audio recording and video productions. We also have a podcast and photo studio. Plus, we have staff DJ’s.
What sets us apart is that our clients become family…which is something we are most proud of. We have events so our clients/family can meet each other, form bonds, and collaborate with each other.
We’d love to hear about how you keep in touch with clients.
Our clients are more than just a number…they become family. So, we do direct contact check-in’s with our client family members. If there’s one thing that COVID reminded us of…life is too short. And it does wonders just to ask how someone is doing…for merely wanting to know…how they are doing. And we foster brand loyalty, by creating other opportunities for our client family members. For example, if we are producing a project, the client family members are offered an opportunity to participate.
What’s a lesson you had to unlearn and what’s the backstory?
I would say one of the main lessons we had unlearn was…you can’t help everyone. And you can’t take everyone on your journey. We grew up in the era of the old saying, “As you move up, reach back and pull someone else with you.” But we had to learn the hard way, not everyone coming with you is for you. And not everyone is ready to move when you move. Backstory of an example:
There was a female entrepreneur that we were introduced to. On the surface, she was providing opportunities to underprivilege and underserved minority kids. So, we definitely wanted to be involved. We got involved without doing our research. And we found out the hard way that everything was not as it was portrayed to be. So, the lesson was, no matter how much you want to help people…help yourself by doing your research before committing.
