We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Teresa Hutton a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.
Teresa, looking forward to hearing all of your stories today. Learning the craft is often a unique journey from every creative – we’d love to hear about your journey and if knowing what you know now, you would have done anything differently to speed up the learning process.
Being a Content Creator for me personally is about bringing out who you are truly within to create phenomenal content, that will impact those around you. Setting a true foundation for ideas of what you want to focus on creating will help in the process of reaching multiple audiences.
I believe having the confidence within to show myself as leading example (Change) would have helped me years ago to elevating my content find a balance to post with purpose and really doing the inward work, so that it would come out better.
The skills I believe that are most essential was again the direction of my content, defining what I was trying to create and the ability to execute it properly.
Not having all the information, I needed to expand within creating content that would be impactful, on how to market it.
As always, we appreciate you sharing your insights and we’ve got a few more questions for you, but before we get to all of that can you take a minute to introduce yourself and give our readers some of your back background and context?
My name Teresa Hutton aka Reeceelynn on my social media’s. I have been a content creator for the past five years. Just the past 2 years, I have pushed myself to step outside of my comfort zone and be at the forefront of the content I post. I Blog/Create content for my weight loss journey as well as create inspirational TikTok videos about self-improvement. In creating content with weight loss & maintenance I have become an ambassador for reactive wear for workout attire. From beauty, fashion, traveling, style, food, and writing I take all things to create something magnificent.
I have had individual coaching sessions with clients to build and work on self-improvement.
What sets me apart is that every aspect of life to me is about self-improvement. From career, health, healing, happiness, goals and so on, it’s all about how we can become greater to step into our assignment.
I want people to know that we are in it together, as I encourage the constant growth, I. Myself will always be a student of life and hold myself accountable to be great as well.
How about pivoting – can you share the story of a time you’ve had to pivot?
I always say that 2020 was the most traumatic and hardest year of my life, yet the greatest year of my life. Loss was what I felt at the beginning. My mother had passed in early 2020, I then was eliminated from my position, covid happened and the world struggled. I also experienced happiness, closeness, laughs, joy, true love. Everything prepared me to press through 2020, to continue to get up each day and “Fight for It” most of all remembering my mother’s love helped me to keep going. I began to build my dream to work more on BMARIE Fashion (Which is named after her). Loss motivated me to keep going even when I wanted to cry nonstop, I couldn’t. The more I pressed through, the more doors opened, and purpose became clearer. Loss pained me, but I tapped into who I have always been within.
Is there mission driving your creative journey?
Impact drives me. When I decided to step out of my comfort zone and show more of myself, my content grew, confidence became easier to have in being on reels, video etc. Yet I still have my moments of being my introvert self. When I decided to step out, people would message me how they are stepping out too! One person told me they lost over 50lbs due to being inspired by my content. Being transparent and blogging my journey has helped others, that’s why I will continue to aim high. I am aiming high to my true self.
