We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Teresa Howell a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.
Alright, Teresa thanks for taking the time to share your stories and insights with us today. Do you wish you had started sooner?
I have been dibbling and dabbling in the entertainment profession for years. I did not think it would be something long-term for my life. I started as a young girl singing in church. I thought my pathway would be singing with well-known artists one day. However, I didn’t discover my true passion until I was in my 40s which was writing! Writing became a critical piece of several puzzles in my life. I found it to be therapeutic, a place of peace, and a sense of grand accomplishments. I wish I could’ve created my books when I was given advice by a professor that reviewed a short story I completed. After my writing career flourished, stage plays, film writing, celebrity podcast, sony orchard distribution and a magazine created followed shortly after. But it all started with a pen and a piece of paper with the willingness to write a story that was meaningful within the Christian fiction community. If I couldve only started much earlier in life, who knows were I would be right at this moment.

Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers.
Teresa B. Howell graduated from North Carolina Central University with a BA in Psychology, MA in Special Education, and MSA in School Administration. In 2020 Teresa created a production company named after herself called TBProductions. TB Productions was founded on the premise of helping others in all forms of artistry. The holistic approach used allows an artist to gain revenue, obtain self-growth and awareness of the industry, as well as nurture the craft of choice. The company was founded in 2019 by Teresa B. Howell. Her vision was to pull struggling artists up to the top with a strategic mindset while gaining power, wealth, and respect in the industry. Within this company, Teresa assists others with playwriting, music distribution, and book distribution. She has created 3 magazines within the company. The most popular one out of the 3 is called The Heat Seekers magazine and can be found in 12 countries. She continues to create content by adding to her celebrity list with her podcast called Amplified Exposure Live. She has interviewed some of the greatest in the entertainment industry such as The Jackson Brothers, Mathew Knowles(The father of Beyonce Knowles), Judge Joe Brown, Comedian Lunelle, and many more. She is the only African American female in this era that has touched every facet of the entertainment and music industry.
What do you find most rewarding about being a creative?
The most rewarding for me is to see the growth in others. I am a special education teacher by trade and I enjoy seeing the growth of individuals after pushing them to their greatest potential. I get excited when their goal is achieved and they have gained success. I have helped several indi artists with marketing and sales. I have assisted several authors with publishing their own books and marketing. I want to continue to create projects that will keep individuals engaged and enlightened concerning the great world of entertainment and all of the branches that I share through TB Productions.
We’d love to hear a story of resilience from your journey.
I haven’t given up on anything I created. I strive to ensure that all of my projects come to life. I will go broke making products that help others. My heart bleeds for the creative edge. I was born for this.
