We recently connected with Tequila Gooding and have shared our conversation below.
Alright, Tequila thanks for taking the time to share your stories and insights with us today. We’d love to go back in time and hear the story of how you came up with the name of your brand?
So when I was deciding on a name I wrote so many different names down that sounded good to me, I would ask my husband what he thought and of course he said no, I asked a few close friends their options and just decided I needed to choose what I wanted because it was my business. I know it’s no such thing as perfect But my job is to provide the the best experience to my clients and their guest so Perfect Pour just sat well with me and what my end plan was. To give each and every cup I pour the perfect pour
Awesome – so before we get into the rest of our questions, can you briefly introduce yourself to our readers.
I started my business by being home making drinks and they were actually good, since I had time by being a stay at home mom I decided to go to bartending school to learn the terminology of bartending. I chose the two week class and actually like it, but I knew I couldn’t go to a workplace and do this during the week (one of the perks of bartending school they place you on a job if needed) . Before Bartending school was over I said I would start my own bartending company and that’s exactly what I did. Chose my name, then I got my llc, worked on building a website, got insurance and got my business license. Once I had all the legal stuff out the way I started getting the basic bar tools. I started posting on social media I got my first event two weeks after I got my llc and from there I’ve been booking events. One of the things I think bring people in is the website and once they speak to me it’s my personality. Problems I help my clients with is deciding what package is right for them. One of the things I’m most proud of is although I haven’t been in business long I have quite a bit of events in such a short time. I was able to bartend a political event for a former governor who is currently running for governor again. I want people to know that the service I provide is a memorable one
Can you tell us about what’s worked well for you in terms of growing your clientele?
The most effective strategy for growing my clientele is to show up to each event on time, be myself (I have an outgoing personality, smile and give my clients the best experience while making their drinks. Doing that in itself spreads word to others looking for a bartender, word of mouth has increased my business in many ways
How did you build your audience on social media?
So building an audience on social media is so very important in todays world with people using the internet for everything. Anytime I make a drink I post it to show people I realize that people are visual and want to see what they could potentially have made. Any events I do I try and take pictures of the event and have my clients leave reviews on my website so other potential clients can see. Good, or bad. But I haven’t had bad at all
