We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Tennisha Bryan a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.
Tennisha , thanks for joining us, excited to have you contributing your stories and insights. How did you come up with the idea for your business?
Being an entrepreneur can be very stressful and exhausting at times. When I was younger, I was more of a night owl and I used that time to draw and envision stuff. Now, I Google research, draw a plan; my brand and business. For my first order of products, there was big misunderstanding; I had different cause of every liquid matte lipsticks. I still managed to sell all the products. I told myself if I can make another person company $1 million then I can make myself $1 million. A part of my motivation came from the struggles faced when employed with other companies and brands. It doesn’t matter what you are selling, it’s more of how you sell it, how you put your product out there and let it be known. And with my body sculpting part of my business. I put myself out there more to be seen. I had a client tell me if it works why you still fat. That right told me back. Cause I don’t ever wanna be skinny. But I just started taking that part of my business more seriously. I lost over 40 pounds and I focus on my body. I’m my own model. So I focus my business on real woman that wanna look better after child birth. I love my clients we are a team.

As always, we appreciate you sharing your insights and we’ve got a few more questions for you, but before we get to all of that can you take a minute to introduce yourself and give our readers some of your back background and context?
I am an island girl from St.Thomas, Virgin Islands, with a fashion degree, cosmetology license and certifications to perform beauty enhancement services. I attended Paul Mitchell cosmetology school in Orlando, in hopes to open a beauty salon after graduation. However, life played out differently.
I started my business in May 2019 with a cosmetic line, aiming for something bigger and better than what was in the market. Allow the pandemic slowed business down slightly, I kept pushing forward. I had a dream to open a store front in 2021, even if it meant something small. Now we are located in Huntsville, Alabama. We offer Beauty Services such as non-invasive, makeup appointments and we sell everything you need to keep your body flawless and makeup beat.

How do you keep in touch with clients and foster brand loyalty?
My clients have quickly become family. They follow me on social media. I do a lot of email marketing and follow up calls. But my favorite thing is marketing text messaging. But every time I post pictures of my results, I’m book for a next service.

We often hear about learning lessons – but just as important is unlearning lessons. Have you ever had to unlearn a lesson?
That’s people are always watching. Even if they don’t by a product or book a service keep posting. I have a had so many clients off of social media that has been sitting on my page for years and just decided to book. Don’t ever think you aren’t being seen.
