We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Tennile Friday a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.
Tennile, looking forward to hearing all of your stories today. Looking back, do you think you started your business at the right time? Do you wish you had started sooner or later?
when I started my business in 2021, although I wish I would have started the business much sooner, I am glad that I waited. I am building my portfolio on a daily basis now. When I started my business I had just finished obtaining my four-year degree, and life was much less hectic, as far as time management. If I did start my business sooner I would have had to manuvere around my hectic schedule. So in the end I feel like I started the business right on time because I can dedicate my energy to my clients.
Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers
My name is Tennile, and I go by “T.” I am rarely seen without my camera, which is why I decided to dedicate my time to photographing people at weddings, graduations, and anniversaries. I also love taking still-life photography. I am proud of the fact that I have the ability to make my clients feel at ease and confident during their shoots. What sets me apart is my style I like to combine my love of nature with my clients. The majority of my shoots are done outside and the background whether it’s a bridge or a barn enhances my subjects even more. Anyone who books photos with me should know I am very open-minded I am willing to meet my clients to make their dream photoshoot come to life, so they will have that memory to cherish forever.
What do you find most rewarding about being a creative?
The most rewarding part of my creative photography is the joy I see on my client’s face, from behind the lens, and also once they see the finished product. It feels me up when I see that my client is proud of the way they look in their photos. Photography is so rewarding because no matter what the subject is there is beauty within it, and that itself deserves a photo.
Can you share your view on NFTs? (Note: this is for education/entertainment purposes only, readers should not construe this as advice)
I believe that NFTs are defiantly making headway in the world of photography as many photographers are using the method to sell their photos, and receive funds via non-fungible tokens. From my aspect, it gives me a way to ensure my work is not stolen for someone else to profit from. From a financial standpoint, NFTs are useful when selling photos that have value, and those photos would primarily be landscape or commercial photography.
