We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Tenlo. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with TENLo below.
Alright, TENLo thanks for taking the time to share your stories and insights with us today. What sort of legacy are you hoping to build. What do you think people will say about you after you are gone, what do you hope to be remembered for?
We are TENLO
Our legacy holds within it the impact that our work will have on popular culture and how it endures across generations. A musician’s legacy is a gift to the world, and our authentic music is the key to leaving a lasting impression. With that said, we strive to create music from our personal life experiences while crafting a unique sonic presence. Music we can stand behind.
We hope people will remember us for being not afraid take chances and for embracing the art of entertainment on and off of the stage. Life is a huge gamble and we’ve managed to live our lives with a front row seat at the Blackjack table. We hope people see that fear is only a figment of their imagination and that anyone can accomplish anything. Remembering TENLo as being not just a band, but a lifestyle.
Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers.
We are TENLo
TENL0 formed in 2017 and includes longtime bandmates TomE Labrosse and Joey Zak. Rising from the ashes of a bankrupt record label and a disbanded national touring act, the two decided to take a risk and form a duo rock group.
In 2020, during covid, TENLo also had famed actress “Stormy Daniels” in their music video for their song “Sunlight.” They remain friends to this day, despite dragging her into the desert and making her haul gear through the sand dunes (The video was very DIY. Watch the “Behind the Scenes for Sunlight” on YouTube)
TENLo’s music video for their single “Midnight” was shot entirely in Downtown NASHVILLE
We write, record and perform original Alt / Rock / Electronic music
Blending rock with a sort of DJ vibe, brings a live show unlike the others. Looking into 2025 the band is finding success with their song “Take Me To Your Leader” , garnering worldwide attention on all streaming platforms. They continue to work on their live show, while working out details for several new releases coming soon.
We’d love to hear about how you met your business partner.
TomE: The first time we hung out, Joey Zak was throwing a wild keg party in Downtown Milwaukee. It was asses to elbows in the house packed full of people. It was awesome. Later on months later we were in a band writing and recording originals. 2 bands and a few years later TENLo was born. We decided it was just gonna be a duo and we were going to get creative with media and originals. Little did we know our first song we put out to the world would go viral and had everyone and their mom would be releasing the video (TMZ, Billboard, Fox News). The rest is history……
Can you share one of your favorite marketing or sales stories?
our first music video….
We had the concept of making a “movie” style Music video. We knew Dustin Diamond (Screech – Saved By The Bell) lived near Milwaukee. We managed to get ahold go his management in New York. They said he was thrilled to be in a music video with a Milwaukee band! (couldn’t believe he actually showed up!)
We scored the venue (Astor hotel – Milwaukee) an actress from Chicago and wardrobe / makeup help. Our good friend Joshua Mendez agreed to direct and film. We conceptualized a storyline. After all releases were signed and we started filming, it was surreal. From having Dustin not only work with us, but having him in a suit getting out of a Trans Am, made us think of “Harvey Weinstein” .. We took a huge gamble having him portray Harvey in the video. this ended up paying off in a huge viral video for us.
We miss our friend Dustin, as after this video we became friends and worked together again.
Moral of the story.. People said we could never have a celebrity in our music video. We never thought it would get more than 1,000 views .. etc etc.. Take the risks. Take very very BIG risks. That’s what life is all about.
