We recently connected with Tenice Holman and have shared our conversation below.
Tenice , thanks for taking the time to share your stories with us today Almost all entrepreneurs have had to decide whether to start now or later? There are always pros and cons for waiting and so we’d love to hear what you think about your decision in retrospect. If you could go back in time, would you have started your business sooner, later or at the exact time you started?
In October 2023, Organized To The T marked its 7th anniversary. Initially focusing on professional organizing, I later incorporated design and more recently virtual support services in 2022.
When asked whether I would have started my business earlier or later if given the chance to go back, I’d say neither. I believe in divine timing and feel I began at the right moment. While I have no regrets about the timing, I acknowledge that creating an additional income source when I started would have brought more stability to both myself and the business. Juggling multiple expenses during the early stages of building was challenging, despite finding grants and opportunities along the way.
Looking back, I would have allocated less time to branding and more time to overall growth. Although I value branding and consult on it, I recognize the importance of prioritizing the foundational aspects. Simultaneously focusing on both branding and foundation building proved overwhelming at times, and I believe a more balanced approach would have facilitated smoother growth.
Tenice , love having you share your insights with us. Before we ask you more questions, maybe you can take a moment to introduce yourself to our readers who might have missed our earlier conversations?
I started my business because I noticed that what came naturally to me was a significant need in my community. Having organized since childhood, I observed the stress and anxiety that came with people’s living spaces. I realized that the clutter and disorganization mirrored the physical and mental stress we often carry.
This realization fueled my passion to assist others in navigating their cluttered experiences. Recognizing that what might be a weakness for one person is a strength for another, I chose to build my career around my expertise in organization. Entering this field has enabled me to help families, business owners, and creatives gain confidence and functionality in their spaces.
My approach to clients is all about personalization, creating environments that bring comfort, peace, and purpose. My ultimate goal is to help others let go so they can create, manifest, and receive what they desire; through organization.

Where do you think you get most of your clients from?
My Dear Clients. The amazing individuals I’ve worked with over the past 7 years have for one, truly been a blessing, and have led me to connect and work with more amazing individuals. The majority of my clients have been referral-based. Today my niche has developed into small business owners and professionals. 100% of my virtual clients today are women-led small business owners. I take a lot of pride in working with my women clients. Although I’d be just as grateful for the male energy, I’m grateful to be working with some powerhouses who are making waves in their industry, and I love that I can help them create better organization around their operations and their virtual systems.
Can you tell us about a time you’ve had to pivot?
A few years ago, before the pandemic, I participated in a small business program facilitated by the SBA. During one session, the instructor mentioned that some of us might be stuck and resistant to change. At the time, I didn’t think her message applied to me, but it resonated with me nonetheless. Little did I know that a couple of years later, I would make a significant shift that turned out to be the change I needed for personal and professional growth. My passion for home organization and helping clients let go of what no longer serves them has always been strong, allowing them to create spaces they love and can maintain. Recently, I embraced virtual support services, and within just one year, I experienced exponential growth. It was a beautiful pivot that I had overlooked, and I’m grateful for the positive impact it has had on my journey.
