Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Tene Uleksin. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Tene, thanks for taking the time to share your stories with us today Coming up with the idea is so exciting, but then comes the hard part – executing. Too often the media ignores the execution part and goes from idea to success, skipping over the nitty, gritty details of executing in the early days. We think that’s a disservice both to the entrepreneurs who built something amazing as well as the public who isn’t getting a realistic picture of what it takes to succeed. So, we’d really appreciate if you could open up about your execution story – how did you go from idea to execution?
When I was first introduced to life coaching and I was offered training to become a coach, I used to struggle with social anxiety, so the thought of having to talk to another person one-on-one was something that made me say “no” to this without any hesitation. A couple of months later out of nowhere the “knowing” hit me – this is exactly what I want to do! As I defeated depression three years earlier, I knew without a question what I wanted to help others with.
After discovering my purpose, it’s been a constant self-development journey for me. First, I understood that I had to overcome my social anxiety to be able to be a life coach. I put myself in very uncomfortable social situations to face my fear toward people and communication. At the same time I dived into personal growth and into books, courses, and programs to learn as much as possible about coaching, human psychology, self-help, etc. I became obsessed with knowledge.
Finding a goal for myself – becoming a life coach – awakened passion in me. Learning, improving myself, and helping others find their way are what set my soul on fire.
Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers.
I help my clients manage their way through depression and social anxiety by changing their mindset. Depression doesn’t always mean its worst. I have had clients who are down and disoriented, they feel stuck in life and need to find a course that fulfills them. Finding a purpose, setting goals and working toward making things happen are a big part of my coaching.
I’m a certified Life Coach and Cognitive Behavior Life Coach. The second certification is based on cognitive behavioral therapy which was developed specifically for treating depression and anxiety disorders. I find it invaluable in my work with clients.
I created a 3-month 1-on-1 coaching program “Transform Your Thinking” where I explain how our thoughts affect our emotions and behaviors, because every thought is a trigger for some kind of action, whether it is constructive or destructive. My clients learn about their thinking patterns, thinking traps, automatic negative thinking, and so much more to understand how powerful our thinking really is. I share proven techniques and tools on becoming mindful of our own thinking and changing it into rational. It’s a priceless value for life.
At the moment I work with my clients in a one-on-one setting. Group coaching is going to be my next step, so I can be available to more people.
Let’s talk about resilience next – do you have a story you can share with us?
I think moving to different countries has built up my resilience a lot. I knew no one and I had no one else to count on. I had to take responsibility for my own decisions and actions. What helped me through difficult moments in my life were definitely belief in myself that I can do this and faith that everything will work out for the best. Some would call it naivety, I would call it resilience – the ability to bounce back from anything life throws at you, the courage to dive head first into the unknown. Concentrating on positive outcomes have helped me to move past the fear of failing. I will keep building up my resilience to aim higher and achieve more, and live my life with no regrets.
Can you tell us about a time you’ve had to pivot?
I’ve always considered myself a spiritual person, but one night, spirituality got a whole different meaning for me. I was reading a book “Angels in My Hair” by Lorna Byrne where she talks about her story of how she has always been able to communicate with angels. There was something mesmerizing in this book and on one spot I started crying uncontrollably. After that night my life has never been the same. Something profound woke up inside of me. I started practicing gratitude, meditation, and yoga. I felt a deep connection with myself and with the universe. I started seeing opportunities in my life, seeing different perspectives, and I could see the bigger picture than ever before. This was the beginning of a journey of self-love that changed the course of my life forever.
