We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Temperance Wooden . We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Temperance below.
Temperance , appreciate you joining us today. Naming anything – including a business – is so hard. Right? What’s the story behind how you came up with the name of your brand?
Yes, it definitely can be hard brainstorming for a unique brand name. You truly have to think long term when doing so. Personally, I wanted my brand to be inclusive to all ethnicities and backgrounds. After thinking about my business name for months and months, an epiphany happened. I figured The Glam Effect was the perfect name! When I think of The Glam Effect, I think about timeless beauty. It’s a name that represents many things; such as makeup artists, hairstylists, estheticians, and nail technicians. One day soon, I’ll have my dream team and stamp my business in the beauty industry.
Temperance , love having you share your insights with us. Before we ask you more questions, maybe you can take a moment to introduce yourself to our readers who might have missed our earlier conversations?

Any stories or insights that might help us understand how you’ve built such a strong reputation?
I think what helped me build my reputation in the beauty industry is my reliability, professionalism, productivity, and customer focused background. Understanding the value of customer service ethics goes hand and hand, when running a productive business. Trust me, clients will always appreciate those who value their time.
We often hear about learning lessons – but just as important is unlearning lessons. Have you ever had to unlearn a lesson?
A lesson I had to unlearn is thinking that support comes swiftly. Truthfully, it can become discouraging running a business due to lack of support. You begin to have self doubt and staggering moments. Over time, I’ve learn to channel my thoughts. I begin to speak life over my business. Whether, if I had one client or a thousand. Understanding the power of words and disruptive communication will keep you mentally on the right track. I’m a firm believer in Jesus Christ and I know that my slow seasons are my preparation seasons. Basically, keep giving your all and eventually your business will come into fruition.
