Hi TeMe, thanks for joining us today. So, what do you think about family businesses? Would you want your children or other family members to one day join your business?

TeMe (pronounced Team) is owned by a team of two sisters (Teisha and Melissa). There are many positive reasons to start a family business, such as; having a supportive environment to brainstorm and share ideas with people that you already trust and being able to delicate duties based on the personal already known strengths and weaknesses.

Awesome – so before we get into the rest of our questions, can you briefly introduce yourself to our readers.

Throughout our fitness journey we often found it hard to find fitness equipment that was simple and easy enough to use for US in the comfort of our home. That’s why we birthed TeMe!!

TeMe is your one size fits all online store to help you build the perfect at home gym to ensure you level up your health journey!!

We are so excited to continue to offer you and your workout team additional accessories and apparel. Stay tuned as new merch is on the way.

Okay – so how did you figure out the manufacturing part? Did you have prior experience?

Once we decided to begin TeMe, we discussed and research whether using wholesale vendors or finding a clothing designer would be beneficial to bring out vision to life. After some careful consideration we decided that it would be in our best interest to start TeMe using a wholesale vendor. The one lesson and recommendation that I have would be to always purchase a sample of the merchandise, especially if you are having the vendor put your logo on your merchandise.

Can you open up about how you funded your business?

The initial capital of TeMe was funded by the owners. When you are investing your own funds into a start up business, it is very important to stay focused and not get discouraged because you may not see huge profit in the first few years but your hard work will eventually pay off.
