Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Teinye Boyle. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Teinye, looking forward to hearing all of your stories today. Almost all entrepreneurs have had to decide whether to start now or later? There are always pros and cons for waiting and so we’d love to hear what you think about your decision in retrospect. If you could go back in time, would you have started your business sooner, later or at the exact time you started?
So, in 2013 i officially started my modelling outfit, i started with just a sparse amount of industry knowledge and winged it up until its eventual and official closure in 2016.
Looking back, while i am grateful for the experience, people and lessons i learnt from, i felt i went in too early and ill-equipped.
It was just a spur-of-the-moment king of expression that i think i took too seriously for a novice.

Awesome – so before we get into the rest of our questions, can you briefly introduce yourself to our readers.
My back story is that i have been good at many things and it became a struggle to pick just one of them.
As far back as age six, i was a budding artist who could sketch and paint, then i moved to becoming a drama boy, bagging leading roles in school drama from age 9.
I later went into the choir and reigned as a leading soprano boy and eventually became a choirmaster at age 15.
Between age 15 and age 20 (when i got into the university) i did some stage plays, tv commercials and sang at choral festivals.
I have always loved fashion, and everything around it, this led to me skipping school and going to a fashion show recording that held during school hours because i wanted to see real life models and designers and all that happens back and front stage.
I did this at around age 13.
As i got to University, i became increasingly curious with backstage and found myself assisting a fashion show backstage and also styling a few known people.
I went on to produce a few pageant and fashion shows myself and this led to founding Teinye Boyle Studios in 2013 which at the time had my modelling outfit (Beige model management) within it.
In 2017 i experienced a career pitfall and went into depression, i would later find that my actual worry was because i could not settle into one career and grow within it.
I felt like a mess and did not know how exactly to show up!
I usually dreaded being asked what i do for a living as i did quite a lot and explaining what i do made me feel nervous and clumsy.
This led to my research on life as a Multipotentialite / polymath and studying the stories of ‘multi-gifted people’.
And after my seven years research, i published my first self-help book; BLACK MULTIPOD: The therapeutic guide for black talents with multiple passion..
This book talks about people like myself who cannot CHOOSE a career path but instead follow several paths.
It also talks about how people like us have existed since time immemorial and how i have been able to personally navigate the multipod lifestyle.
I have been getting loads of feedbacks on this journey which has led me into becoming a certified life coach, mentoring people like me into living FULL.

Is there a particular goal or mission driving your creative journey?
Yes there is, i soon realised around 2017 that my actual purpose is to help multi-gifted people (like me) navigate their multi-potentiality while living out all my own gifts and talents.

We’d love to hear a story of resilience from your journey.
I have always been a resilient young man who found many ways to knock down brick walls.
I remember a time i was going to relocate to a new city, i knew i needed to be financially well-off enough and maybe have a few connections too but i entered into a competition with all my eggs in the basket.
The competition came with an internship and accommodation in the city i needed to move to for more opportunities, i knew that was my ONLY chance and prepared wholeheartedly for it.
I told the judges i had packed all my bags and would not want to unpack so they had better choose me.
They saw how serious i was and how my business idea was viable too, they had no choice and that gave birth to newer opportunities and connections.
