We recently connected with Teesha Borum and have shared our conversation below.
Teesha, looking forward to hearing all of your stories today. Let’s kick things off with your mission – what is it and what’s the story behind why it’s your mission?
My mission is simple. I want others to know themselves, love themselves, and be themselves.
“Bigger”, by Beyoncé comes to mind…”If you feel insignificant, you better think again. Better wake up because you’re part of something way bigger…Not just a speck in The Universe. Not just some words in a bible verse. YOU are the living word. You’re part of something way bigger.”
We tend to look outside of ourselves. Thus, diminishing the fact that we possess the same qualities that we admire in the people around us. We can self actualize, rather than “pedestalize”. Be your own guru.
The Divine speaks to each of us directly. That force works through each of us in unique ways, in order for us to manifest OUR SPECIFIC destiny. This leaves no room for comparison, jealousy or envy. Know thyself, and stand firm in that!
I create affirmative jewelry and apparel to serve as a reminder, as well as a shield. Recognize your divinity and dim your light for no one!

Teesha, before we move on to more of these sorts of questions, can you take some time to bring our readers up to speed on you and what you do?
I was heavily inspired in 2020 to fully realize what had been brewing beneath the surface for a few years. I officially closed my previous business in 2020, and could finally put all of my energy into what I wanted to do with my current business, High Vibe Sentiments.
My intent was to work smarter, not harder, especially when having limited resources during a pandemic. It was time for me to simplify my life and not worry about perishable ingredients and 6 week cure times to maintain my bath & body business.
Since 2014, I was inspired by other jewelers because I saw how people gravitate towards jewelry. It makes them feel good, and confident. I knew that if I incorporated affirmative messages, and my personal practices and beliefs, I could very well have a jewelry brand that was true to me and inspiring to others as well- perhaps, even on a soul level.
In the midst of the 2020 chaos- collectively, our souls were nudging us to do some healing. I personally began to face my shadows when my mom transitioned in 2016. I expressed myself via art (painting) to heal my inner child. High Vibe Sentiments was a seed that no one saw growing, sprouted in 2019 and expanded in 2020 as a result of the healing I was doing. Will I shrink or play small? No. I emerged from the cocoon to the butterfly- I AM…
The mission became more clear, as I went from making affirmation apparel, stickers and buttons, to adding affirmative jewelry as well. I was able to incorporate my vision into my designs. The use of alchemy, knowing thyself (through astrology), and affirming oneself puts the power in the hands of each of us to transmute our circumstances into what we desire to manifest. Status, titles, appearances aside- I hope we all become our own guru and know that we are inherently worthy.
What else should we know about how you took your side hustle and scaled it up into what it is today?
My side hustle was finally able to become my full-time business, because I decided to work smarter rather than harder. I HAD TO have a job when I ran my bath and body business because “the math wasn’t mathin” The costs and time vs what my products were selling for, wouldn’t allow me to grow my business how I wanted. I’d have to overwork myself, or hire others- which looks good on paper but has never been my goal. I’m not a “team no sleep, girl boss.”
Being an introvert, it’s important for me to preserve my energy. Otherwise, doing what I love becomes a chore. Events were daunting because after having made everything, I then had to explain the benefits of the products, to then sell items for $4-15. WHAT?! My efforts weren’t being matched in monetary gains. I was exhausted.
Again, I paid attention to how people gravitate towards jewelry. So, getting customers was almost the easy part. Once it clicked how far my money could stretch with jewelry supplies, it was a wrap for me! It’s less time consuming, a bit more creative and a lot less stressful.
The Universe opened doors for me, so I knew I was on a better path towards success- which for me, equals FREEDOM to create, rather than hustling to survive in a broken system, that depletes us of energy, creativity and sovereignty. No matter what business path I choose, I am always going to create. I’m beyond thankful to be a full-time entrepreneur!

Where do you think you get most of your clients from?
Doing pop up events has been the best way for me to get new customers. It gives people the opportunity to see, feel, and try things on. It’s pretty much like setting up my own store- wherever and whenever I wish, without the overhead and commitment of a brick and mortar. WINNING.
Shifting my focus and utilizing my energy properly is what allows me to participate in festivals and markets now. I used to be socially anxious, and HATED doing events. I was also around people that were successful in their approach but their mindset was in opposition to how I operate…This goes back to knowing thyself. What works for others may not work for you.
Be your own guru and forge your own path. Dance to the beat of your own drum. People may try to get in your head to make you feel like you’re beneath them, or that your ideas are meaningless. But through healing, I hope you recognize your divinity and dim your light for no one.
