Teeny, thanks for joining us, excited to have you contributing your stories and insights. Let’s start with the story of your mission. What should we know?

My mission is to curate timeless designs for interior spaces through mentoring younger designers. As I grow my team, it is imperative to me that my mission incorporates mentoring the next generation in this new-age design world. I believe some early career trauma and demeaning bosses have helped strengthen my professional character. I want to help provide positive career experiences and supportive environments for my interior designers.

Teeny, before we move on to more of these sorts of questions, can you take some time to bring our readers up to speed on you and what you do?

I have been been working in design and photography for fifteen years, passionately implementing worldly inspiration and global architecture into my interior spaces and arts. After graduating from The University of Georgia with a BS in Furnishings and Interiors, I worked in the Southeast for a boutique developer, a commercial architect firm, a luxury Italian fabric line, managed collaborative art galleries, and then launched Teeny Morrison Design in 2017. My designs adorn a clean timeless palette with refined colorful details of decor and art.

My wanderlust-inspiring photography prints are vibrant and rich in color, with an artful polish. Featuring an abundance of glamorous locations and seaside luxury, my work boasts a signature stylistic elegance and influences in nature. With a keen eye for natural beauty, I like to captures raw, visually stimulating scenes that celebrate the world’s allure.

I also share an acrylic business, Clearly Curated, with my best friend. We have been business partners for a few years, opening two art galleries/event venues together with a talented group of local women. With similar backgrounds in interior design and art, we share the same creative vein that keeps our minds busy with countless ideas. After spending many years sourcing goods for ourselves and our clients, whether for interiors or art, we felt there was a gap in the market that we could fill, so here we are! Clearly Curated is a lifeSTYLE brand creating modern takes on classic pieces for you and your home – in acrylic! From mod silhouettes, acrylic dollhouses, collector jewelry to home décor and more, we are here to bring some style to your life! Who designs our pieces? We do! Who fabricates our pieces? We do – every single one of them, right here in South Carolina.

How do you keep your team’s morale high?

If you want longevity for your employees, managing your team is everything. I think culture in the office is as important than any other aspect of your business. I started by having interns from my University’s design program. It helped me gain knowledge of time management, human relations, and I built lots of lasting friendships along the way.

What’s a lesson you had to unlearn and what’s the backstory?

You are not going to be best friends with every client. Some people are purely business. I’ve had to learn to keep a very professional manner and learn each client’s personality– it’s a psychology experiment for each project!
