Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Tee The Superior Shop. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.

Alright, Tee thanks for taking the time to share your stories and insights with us today. Folks often look at a successful business and imagine it was an overnight success, but from what we’ve seen this is often far from the truth. We’d love to hear your scaling up story – walk us through how you grew over time – what were some of the big things you had to do to grow and what was that scaling up journey like?

You know like with every business it starts out with challenges especially in the fashion industry. The Superior Shop has been around many years because of relationships that I’ve built with local celebrities that have now grown to be some of the biggest stars worldwide. I’ve styled big names like T.I. to our Memphis native MoneyBagg before the fame. I can humbly say that I waited my turn. One of the biggest twist that transpired with The Superior Shop is our collaboration with Hadrat Faatimah one of the biggest marketing gurus that built herself from scratch. She has helped our store tremendously with her expertise in communication, marketing, and networking. The Superior Shop itself owes all of our accreditation to our shoppers we have built so many relationships with people all across the city that have been shopping with us for many many years and we owe it all to them. I’d be a fool to sit up and say it’s all me I owe it to my team of employees that come in day in and day out keep the store together. The Superior Shop is where it is because of hard-work and dedication of a team of people sticking together.

Awesome – so before we get into the rest of our questions, can you briefly introduce yourself to our readers.

The thing that sets me apart from others is I don’t get in the lane of other people and truly want to see other people win especially those that are put in my pathway.

What do you think helped you build your reputation within your market?

I think the biggest thing that helped me build my reputation was always being able to produce for my customers always being able to provide what’s new and being able to give them that 100% attention that they need as individuals. Everyone wants to be appreciated and felt loved even if it just involves apparel.

Let’s talk about resilience next – do you have a story you can share with us?

In 2017 The Superior Shop was broken into and it was one of the most tragic things that has happened to us and I think recovering from that situation not only for myself but for our whole team it opened our eyes and really just made us realize that we have to be even more determined to go hard and to never give up on whatever it is that you believe in no matter the obstacles.
