We were lucky to catch up with Tee Recx recently and have shared our conversation below.
Tee, thanks for taking the time to share your stories with us today Do you think your parents have had a meaningful impact on you and your journey?
My parents show me both sides of the spectrum in terms of life. My mom always gave me the pros and cons speech about what is going to happen if this occurs and everything and so being in a household with my dad, he was very analytical as well that prepared me to look at life, kind of like an analyst. With that kind of mindset, I say, prepared me for a great Information Technology and Entertainment career. It gave me perspective on how I wanted my journey to go and it was always to follow my Lord & Savior Jesus. So I learned to be perfectly imperfect and to live my life accordingly like they would have wanted me.
Awesome – so before we get into the rest of our questions, can you briefly introduce yourself to our readers.
My inspirations come from everything that exist in this world like people, places, & things that we see throughout our lifetime. It inspires me to want to be in an industry where all of this was connected together, and what better career to have than working in the information technology industry in Corporate America for over 24 years in an analyst role. Add working in the entertainment field where you get to know people from all around the world that you might not have ever met if you were working anywhere else or any other industry. I wanted to create a podcast called Live By Terrence in which became The Live By Terrence Network on BlogTalkRadio from 2011 – 2019. It was a great run with providing 612 radio show like episodes to listeners in 42 countries. This allowed so much networking and an outlet for people to collaborate with anyone around the world. This experience is a wonderful journey in collaborating with The Hype Magazine as a podcaster, interviewer, writer, and a media personality. 11 years & going. 2 Factor Media is a nonprofit media organization focused on Love God, Love People in everything we promote, broadcast, share, etc. This concept allow us to operate as independent media organization for the people in terms of good news, inspirational, spiritual content, community outreach, and laughter. No judgment zone because we all are in this world together. Meeting so many people inspired me to serve my purpose in my faith with 2 Factor Media in providing a platform for the client or talent to have interviews, audio/video content, blogs or articles, etc. to share through our social networks to highlight and give them an opportunity to be heard or seen on an independent & mainstream level.
Any insights you can share with us about how you built up your social media presence?
Building your social media presence is very important. I started off by using Twitter as my main social media app as far as promoting my podcast radio shows, getting interviews, and attracting fans to view or listen to our content. Then I moved towards Facebook, Instagram, & a few others. The main advice I will give to you with having a social media presence is to stay consistent. Always be consistent and be engaging with your followers.
What do you find most rewarding about being a creative?
The most rewarding aspect of being a creator is being able to help people in their journey and to share resources for hope and an opportunity. It allows us to be ourselves and to show that we all are unique.
