We recently connected with Ted Hargrove and have shared our conversation below.
Ted, thanks for taking the time to share your stories with us today How do you feel about asking friends and family to support your business? What’s appropriate, what’s not? Where do you draw the line?
I feel that support starts with your friends and family. Before putting it into action, you may let your support system know about your plans, business aspirations, and dream. These people are your guiding life, support system, and cheerleading to make it happen. As you grow as a business owner, you receive advice from those individuals who truly know you and want what’s best for you. I feel that friends and family can take advice in some situations but all. Personally, my friends and family have supported Ted Hargrove Photo and given me the courage to keep pushing and reaching for the stars. My best friends have been so influential in my business that they are truly the real MVPs.
As always, we appreciate you sharing your insights and we’ve got a few more questions for you, but before we get to all of that can you take a minute to introduce yourself and give our readers some of your back background and context?
I started doing photography in 2012, as time progressed, I did smaller projects to build awareness of the brand and gain more experience. Going into my 7th year, I have specialized in personal portraiture, branding and real estate. What sets me a part is that I always think of my customers first. I build their session around my client to ensure they have the most fun when they are with me and make personal touch for each client. My proudest moment would be when I featured VoyageATL last year and seeing my work published was a great feeling and showing it to the world. One thing, I love when clients see my work and they get emotional or makes them think about how they felt when they were being photographed.
Any insights you can share with us about how you built up your social media presence?
Authencity mainly. Promoting content that represents Ted Hargrove and my brand. I started a cool video series after the client has completed their session. The video series called ” It’s A Wrap” is a cool personal touch with all my clients to connect with the photographer and have a personal moment with me. I decided to keep making those special moments with clients.
What do you find most rewarding about being a creative?
The most rewarding aspect of being creative is when I have a vision, executed, and delivery what was in my mind and the client loves it. Just let me know that I did my job. Bringing joy to customers that have not taken images in a long time and they have new memories for years to come.
