We recently connected with Teandra Myers and have shared our conversation below.
Alright, TeAndra thanks for taking the time to share your stories and insights with us today. Let’s start with education – we’d love to hear your thoughts about how we can better prepare students for a more fulfilling life and career.
Regarding real estate education, I would change the pre-licensing course content to include information about what actually happens in real estate transactions. I retained a lot of the information from my real estate licensing course because I had a great teacher. I even passed the exams for three different states on the first attempts which is not very common in this industry. However, I rarely use any of that information. It does not really help me with my daily real estate business. I think they should incorporate a little more about how the business is actually ran so people are more prepared when they get their license.

TeAndra, love having you share your insights with us. Before we ask you more questions, maybe you can take a moment to introduce yourself to our readers who might have missed our earlier conversations?
I’m a native of Tampa, Florida, and a proud alumna of Howard University, where I earned my B.A. in communications. My journey into real estate started in 2014, while I was working at a Community Development Corporation in Washington, DC. Initially, I was searching for a way to combine my love for public relations and storytelling with my passion for community development and empowering families. It was during this time that I discovered the real estate sector, and I knew I had found my true calling.
Today, I am a REALTOR® in both Florida and Georgia, specializing in the Tampa Bay and Greater Atlanta Metro areas. I offer a range of real estate services, from helping clients find their dream homes to assisting with property sales and investments and even assisting with finding rental properties. My goal is to not only meet my clients’ needs but to exceed their expectations by ensuring they achieve their dreams while maintaining their financial security.
What sets me apart is my deep understanding of real estate rules and regulations, which I use to my clients’ advantage during negotiations. Having passed three different state exams( FL, GA, MD) on my first attempt, I am well-versed in the intricacies of the industry, allowing me to craft innovative strategies that are tailored to each client’s unique situation. But more than that, it’s my passion for helping others and my welcoming personality that really make a difference. I strive to build lasting relationships with my clients, treating them like friends and family rather than just another transaction.
I’m particularly proud of my commitment to “Truth & Service,” values I hold dear from my Howard Bison roots. Through my involvement with The Myers Group and local organizations, I engage in charitable work and focus on educating families about money management and breaking the cycle of generational poverty.
For anyone considering working with me, I want you to know that my approach is holistic—I care deeply about my clients’ well-being and financial security, and I work tirelessly to ensure they feel supported and empowered throughout the entire real estate process. Whether you’re buying, selling, or investing, I’m here to guide you every step of the way with expertise, integrity, and a genuine commitment to your success.

Any advice for growing your clientele? What’s been most effective for you?
I have tried many different strategies while building my clientele but the most effective has always been simply being genuinely me. I have built a referral-based business by being authentic and knowledgable. My very first clients came from people I met at open houses. I built relationships with them and they have referred clients to me who have also referred more clients to me. Instead of paying for leads and ads, I spend my marketing dollars on client appreciation. I host an annual Fall Family photo shoot for all of my clients and they love it along with other smaller things I do throughout the year to stay in touch and show my gratitude for them.

We’d love to hear a story of resilience from your journey.
I love to tell this story to new agents because a lot of people turn look down on rental clients and don’t like to work with them. Many are surprised when I tell them that I closed over five transactions from working with one rental client and most of them were luxury properties. I received a call from someone who had found my card in a rental house they toured and wanted me to help them. I did and they referred me to one of their friends who ended up doing multiple transaction with me and referring me to others as well. Rentals are not always a breeze to work with, especially considering the huge difference in compensation compared to a sale but the lesson here is to treat everyone the same. Of course, you want to do so with boundaries that I fair to you.
