Today we’d like to introduce you to Taylor Winstead.
Hi Taylor, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
I started in 2018 after realizing I was not happy with my online boutique. It took me a long time to figure out the best way to combine my 2 passions, being creative and Supporting Veterans & First Responders.
I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
Ha no! Not at all. What is that saying? Nothing worth having, comes easy? That would sum up the daily struggles of being an entrepreneur, especially a female entrepreneur in a male dominated field. I struggled for years with being able to get consistent sales, but once I figured out that it had more to do with the fact that I was not being a consistent business owner, that changed. I have always struggled with being vulnerable in my personal life and recently learned it had bled over into my business life too. Once I started working on that, I started seeing sales role in more. It is scary but it is definitely worth it. Everything is hard and at the end of the day you just have to pick your hard.
Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
The simple answer is that I own an Apparel & Home-goods Company. I know what you’re thinking, just another shirt maker, right? Not really. I pride myself on being able to set myself apart from everyone else. My focus is on Veterans, First Responders and Patriotic Americans. I offer bulk printing as well for companies, organizations, community events and fundraisers. I want to be known for being authentic and unapologetically myself. I have had people who I thought were friends come in and attempt to recreate what I have built but, at the end of the day, it is the business owner that makes the company, not necessarily the product. I think the thing that I am most proud of at this point in my career is that I have had the honor of creating a full line for an Officer Killed In the Line Of Duty. Officer Anthony Francone.
We’d love to hear about any fond memories you have from when you were growing up?
Oh man. To be completely honest, my childhood is not something I’m very fond of. But, the memory that sticks out the most is getting to rebuild a four wheeler with my dad. It was special and something I will cherish forever. The best part about my childhood was that it gave me an idea of what I did not want in my life, what I did not want to become and it gave me a foundation to build something great upon.
