Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Taylor Thomas. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Taylor, thanks for taking the time to share your stories with us today So, let’s start with a hypothetical – what would you change about the educational system?
Our education system lacks financial education for our youth who are soon to enter the adult world. Money is the one thing that we all touch in the world, but no one knows how to use or like talking about. Financial education in schools could help so many people when it comes to money management. Most of us weren’t taught how to save, how to manage money, the impact of debt, how to build healthy credit, or even how to start investing in simple ways.
Our parents generation could only teach us what their parents generation taught them. There’s so much to know, learn and understand about money that a lot of us in my community, have missed out on. Simple things like saving before spending or paying your credit card off in full each month. Those very small, simple and seemingly common sense type of lessons are missed, which leaves a lot of us swamped in debt, ashamed to talk about money, and stressed about our financial situation.
All of this are reasons why I became a Financial Coach and a Financial Educator. It’s important for me to help educate my generation to understand money, learn smart ways to use and manage money and be the first of our families to leave a legacy for the next generation.

Taylor, before we move on to more of these sorts of questions, can you take some time to bring our readers up to speed on you and what you do?
I’m a Financial Coach and Educator born and raised in Atlanta Georgia. My business Journey Through Finance is the financial coaching and education business providing a range of services, including financial education courses, 1-on-1 coaching, personal finance workshops, and insurance products.
My focus is to help individuals take control of their money through education and guidance in areas like budgeting, saving, investing, debt management, financial planning, and other tailored services aimed to empower clients to improve their financial well-being.
In 2024, Journey Through Finance helped clients pay off over $10,000 worth of credit card debt, pay off cars, purchase their first home, build their confidence to get promotions at work, increase their credit scores, open high savings accounts, begin investing, and so much more!
It’s been fulfilling work. I love to hear my client’s excitement when achieving their financial goals in learning how to manage their money in healthy ways that fits their lifestyle.

How do you keep in touch with clients and foster brand loyalty?
I check in with all of my clients, even after we have completed our set number of sessions. I love to hear updates of their lives
and how learning how to manage their money in healthy ways has continue to be a benefit in their life.

Can you tell us about what’s worked well for you in terms of growing your clientele?
Social media is a great tool to build your brand and attract clients but shaking hands and having conversations with people will always be very powerful. Being out in public spaces and introducing myself and the work that I do seems to be like a saving grace to a lot of people. The immediate response is, “OMG I need your help!” Then they go on and tell me their financial situation. I truly do feel their pain. Money can be complicated and a stressor to a lot of us. I just love that I’m able to help each individual relieve some of that financial stress that they carry on a daily basis.
