We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Taylor Shiff a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.
Taylor, appreciate you joining us today. Coming up with the idea is so exciting, but then comes the hard part – executing. Too often the media ignores the execution part and goes from idea to success, skipping over the nitty, gritty details of executing in the early days. We think that’s a disservice both to the entrepreneurs who built something amazing as well as the public who isn’t getting a realistic picture of what it takes to succeed. So, we’d really appreciate if you could open up about your execution story – how did you go from idea to execution?
The Birth of Sacred Radiance
She came to me first as a whisper—my daughter. A quiet, sacred knowing that life was about to change in the most extraordinary way.
When I learned I was pregnant, I felt a deep stirring in my soul. Not just the joy of motherhood, but a call to become more. To be more. I wanted my daughter to grow up knowing that her mother was brave—that I dared to follow my heart, no matter how uncertain the path.
As her heartbeat grew stronger, so did my vision.
I had always felt drawn to healing—to the quiet power of energy, sound, and touch. I had the hands of a healer and the heart of someone who wanted to help others remember their light. And with my daughter growing inside me, that calling turned into a promise: I would create something sacred. Something radiant.
Sacred Radiance was born alongside her.
It began humbly, in the stillness of late nights and the quiet courage of early mornings. I studied and refined my gifts—Reiki, sound healing, skincare—channeling holy fire energy through my hands and heart. Every choice, every step, was infused with intention: to offer others peace, beauty, and balance, and to show my daughter that women can be both soft and strong. That we can create, heal, nurture, and lead.
As I opened the doors to Sacred Radiance, I wasn’t just launching a business. I was opening a sanctuary—a place where people could come to reconnect with themselves. Where energy flows freely, where sound soothes the soul, and where beauty is honored from the inside out.
And in every session, I feel her presence—the little girl who inspired it all. I work so that one day, she will know that her mother followed her soul’s calling. That I didn’t wait for permission. I created a life rooted in purpose and lit by love.
Now I have 2 daughters and an amazing husband who supports every leap i take, this my why. Sacred Radiance is my how.
And every healing I offer is both a gift to the world—and a promise kept to them.
I left my career job, liquidated my retirement and all my wildest dreams came true.

Taylor, before we move on to more of these sorts of questions, can you take some time to bring our readers up to speed on you and what you do?
I had a career at costco for many years. After 10 years, I decided that I wasn’t happy anymore, and I believed it could be more than just to costco, supervisor. I left that job and was a full time fitness instructor for a while.
I always wanted to go to school to be an esthetician but i was afraid to stop working full time.
Once the pandemic happened and fitness was canceled, I decided to liquidate my retirement and go to school to be an esthetician.
8 months after my daughter was born and I was done with school, I opened what was previously “The Skin Studio”
I became a licensed Tattoo artist for lips and brows.
About 3 years after I opened i was called to the reiki journey and sound healing world.
A few months ago I rebranded, and now I am “sacred radiance”
I decided to drop semi permanent makeup to follow my calling and heal people from the inside out.

Can you share a story from your journey that illustrates your resilience?
The economy took a huge hit a couple years ago, and the business was not thriving. I took out a business loan, invested more money into making myself look more professional with a wonderful website.
If you sit with yourself and you look at everything that you’ve accomplished in your life, even when you’re scared and you feel like you might need to get another job, it doesn’t always mean that you do. Sometimes it just means that you have to think outside the box to get that business back up and running.

Can you tell us about a time you’ve had to pivot?
After I owned my business, and I i built up my clientele for sending permit makeup for 3 years and it was the main bread and butter of my business, i decided to take it off the books and completely changed my entire business model.
It was really scary, but the clients started flowing in for energy healing & Sound Healing.
