Alright, Taylor thanks for taking the time to share your stories and insights with us today. We’d love to hear the story behind how you got your first job in field that you currently practice in.
I started my fitness journey by offering free classes to the public. With a genuine passion for helping others lead healthier lives, my goal was to share my knowledge and engage with the community.
I collaborated with local venues, choosing picturesque locations like the beach and park to hold my classes. I utilized social media and collaborations to expand my reach.
As my free classes gained momentum, I started establishing a presence and gained a loyal following. This encouraged me to transition into offering paid classes and private training, providing more personalized guidance to those seeking it.
Starting with free classes served as a crucial stepping stone in my journey. It allowed me to build a solid foundation that led to me getting job offers from local studios.

My name is Taylor, and I am a Pilates Instructor and Certified Personal Trainer located in The Hamptons. Helping others has always been a passion of mine, and it was a goal of mine to pursue a career that would allow me to do just that. When I realized that I could have a career in which I not only help people but also share what I know and love, I knew that I had found my purpose. I have dedicated my career to helping people achieve their health and fitness goals, and I find great joy in sharing this experience with my clients. It is essential to take care of your body and have a fitness program that is enjoyable, sustainable, and aligned with your personal fitness goals. One of my favorite things to tell people is “Be grateful for everything that you are. Fitness should be something you do for yourself, not something you punish yourself with.”
What’s been the most effective strategy for growing your clientele?
Be a positive and kind human that people enjoy being around. The more you connect with your clients and build your relationships, the more they are inclined to want to work with you. Overtime, they will refer people to you and it grows just like that!
What do you think helped you build your reputation within your market?
After starting with the free classes, I sought work at established studios and brands to build momentum. Working with reputable organizations allowed me to tap into their existing networks, learn from experienced professionals, and enhance my own credibility. Seeking partnerships with respected studios helped me expand my reach and solidify my reputation as a committed fitness professional.
