Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Taylor Miller. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Hi Taylor, thanks for joining us today. Let’s talk legacy – what sort of legacy do you hope to build?
I hope my legacy will be that others will understand the importance of family. Family isn’t always blood related, sometimes it’s those around you who make you feel at home. I would hope that those see how important it is to remember, spend quality time with your loved ones and continue to live fully. Photography helps remember those now moments for later, I just help you preserve them.
Taylor, before we move on to more of these sorts of questions, can you take some time to bring our readers up to speed on you and what you do?
Where to even start, I got into the industry around the age of 15 and never truly left. I had the amazing opportunity to work under three different photographers to help me learn what I could absorb. I have always been on to go out and learn as much as I could as long as put my mind to it and it truly paid off when growing my own business. I manage it all from the actually sessions, down to my website creation and bookkeeping.
I am a lifestyle photographer based in Clearwater, Florida. I have been in business officially the last two years and so thankful to call the beach my home. I specialize in families, maternity, couples and seniors. The true aspect of my business that sets me a part, I would say is my main purpose is to embrace the true personality, emotion and dynamic of relationships. I live for those candid moments and the true emotion to shine through. Most of my sessions average around an hour and we just keep chatting a photographing until we feel our time is up or the sun goes down, I love spending time with my clients and getting to know them.
I would say I am most proud of what my brand truly embraces. I get to meet so many amazing people and that they come to me for exactly what I want them to have. I want them to have their family, not just photos. They want their children playing, their children laughing, the sweet snuggles, all of it. Not just the sit and smile. I am always so eager to meet my clients, they are trusting me with their vision and I always am to capture that.

Any insights you can share with us about how you built up your social media presence?
Being myself. It isn’t about the number count for me. It is about the quality. I know most of my followers if not all and they get to know me on a more personal level and a business level. We are all human and my inbox is always open. I try my best to respond promptly. My audience is my people, not just a number or followers.
My best advice would be to play in to the algorithm a bit, but if you’re looking for quality, people will follow you if you show up and you be yourself.

What do you find most rewarding about being creative?
The most rewarding aspect of being a creative has to be the joy photos bring to people. Like even delivering sneak peeks they are just as excited to see the gallery as I am. There is a relationship that is built from the moment someone inquires until the day I deliver. Most of the times we still continue to chat, follow each-other on social media and even become friends.
