Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Taylor Logue. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Hi Taylor , thanks for joining us today. How did you come up with the idea for your business?
I was working full time in mental healthcare, and just wanted to make extra money, so I started doing social media management for businesses that were already in my circle of people. During this time, I realized I loved working in social media. The longer I worked part time, I wanted to go full time because it was a true passion.
I had hesitations when thinking about working for myself full time, because that would mean I was fully in control. The more I thought about that, the more I realized this was the best situation possible for me and my future. Who doesn’t want to be in control of their day to day, finances, and workload? Of course, it hasn’t come without its own set of challenges from a typical 9-5 job.
There are a lot of agencies and social media managers that do the exact same thing I do, so I knew I needed a way to differentiate myself. What makes my agency different from other agencies is that we work off of a proven strategy model with every single client that comes to us. We don’t just manage your social media account, but we create a full road map for how we are going to achieve your goals.
Taylor , love having you share your insights with us. Before we ask you more questions, maybe you can take a moment to introduce yourself to our readers who might have missed our earlier conversations?
My name is Taylor and I grew up in South Georgia. I grew up with a passion for photography, beautiful aesthetics, and storytelling. This soon developed into a passion for social media.
I began brewing the idea for CoThought Social, so I could use my passion to help others, my expertise in social media and marketing, love for beautiful aesthetics, and creative mind to spread messages for companies around the globe with no limits. My driver for all things in life is helping others and changing their lives.
CoThought Social, my social media marketing agency, assists clients with social media management and social media strategy. I started in this industry by accident when I had business owners I knew asking if I could help with their social media, but I am so thankful for that “accident”.
We help brands reach the next level of success on social media by making a larger impact. When we work with clients we dive deep into your business goals and those goals become our goals, which creates the social media strategy and acts as their road map for social media.
Any insights you can share with us about how you built up your social media presence?
So social media comes easier for me than for most, since this is what I do full time for clients. I will say, my businesses social media accounts take a seat on the back burner when I am busy with client work.
As a social media expert, consistency is the biggest thing on social media. A lot of experts say this, and it is an ambiguous term. When I say it is important to be consistent on social media that simply means showing up. Showing up may look different for people, brands, and businesses. For my business, I post 4 times each week and try to show up on Instagram stories as often as I can.
For some of our clients, we post more often than that, and for some we post less. Consistency is just continuing to show up. I like to compare social media consistency to consistency at the gym. You can’t expect results after going to the gym once, just like you can’t expect to build an audience or a community after only posting once. If you continue to go to the gym for months, then you will start to see results. If you go to the gym for a year, you should start to see big results. The same goes for social media.
My biggest piece of advice for anyone looking to build an audience on social media would be to stay consistent. Most people give up, because they don’t see results quickly enough. If you keep going you will beat out the 90% of people that give up.
What’s worked well for you in terms of a source for new clients?
The best source of new clients for me would be referrals, where current clients or people within my network refer others to my services.
For my business, referrals have been great clients, because it builds a foundation of trust and credibility right from the start. Referred clients are often more engaged and committed because they come with a positive endorsement from someone they know and respect.
Additionally, referrals often lead to long-term relationships and higher retention rates, as the initial connection is based on a shared connection.
