We recently connected with Taylor Hall and have shared our conversation below.
Taylor, thanks for joining us, excited to have you contributing your stories and insights. So let’s jump to your mission – what’s the backstory behind how you developed the mission that drives your brand?
For as long as I can remember, I have been an athlete. I grew up in an environment where the basketball court and weight room were my second home, so when I graduated from playing college basketball in May 2023, the easiest transition for me was from being a full time athlete to becoming a fitness coach.
The first place that I began training at was Equinox. I loved it there, it was a luxury fitness center but I found that I was one of few women in the gym, not only as a trainer, but as a female on the gym floor! Many of my girlfriends wanted to train with me, but they would ask to workout outside of the gym where they felt intimidated by the male dominated space and overwhelmed by the equipment that they had never seen or used before.
For this reason, I started hosting weekly women-only workouts in the La Brea Tar Pits Park that I called my ‘’Girly Pops Fitness’ to allow my girls to workout amongst one another in a non-intimidating and empowering environment. Since beginning these workouts in August of 2023, I have seen so many women grow physically, mentally, and emotionally through being involved with my Girly Pops Fitness community. Never in my life have I felt more fulfilled than when I see my girls get outside of their comfort zone and grow together. Now, after hosting five of my ‘TAY Girly Pops Fitness’ Events and reaching over 500,000 women across the US through our community and media, my life and brand mission has become to break through traditional boundaries and empower women through a luxurious but accessible fitness community.
Taylor, love having you share your insights with us. Before we ask you more questions, maybe you can take a moment to introduce yourself to our readers who might have missed our earlier conversations?
My name is Taylor Hall. I am a NASM Certified Personal Trainer, Entrepreneur, Fitness Coach, and Energy Catalyst!
With a background in athletics and four years as a high-level NCAA collegiate basketball player, I discovered my passion for fitness during my ACL rehabilitation after two consecutive tears. This journey revealed my mission: to infuse life with energy and purpose while empowering others through fitness.
My commitment to personal training extends FAR beyond the workout; it’s about crafting a functional, exciting, and balanced lifestyle!
What is my training style?
I approach every client with the goal to transform their weaknesses into their greatest strengths through functional movements, exercise, and nutrition. The TAY Method allows you to move and feel like a lifelong athlete!
Have you ever had to pivot?
When I was playing basketball, my entire life was centered around the sport and I didn’t want to do anything else but practice and play basketball. It was always my dream to play professionally, but after my second ACL tear I took a step back to evaluate what my true purpose was, and God was telling me that it was not to play professional basketball. Instead, this is when I fell in love with Fitness and the recovery journey through rehabbing my ACL.
Through this process, I became the strongest and most confident version of myself and was able to return back to playing college basketball for another two years as a better athlete than I had ever been before. This was probably the biggest identity crisis I had, realizing that I was not just an athlete, but so much more than an athlete!
Are there any books, videos or other content that you feel have meaningfully impacted your thinking?
Every morning when I wake up, I love to start my day by listening to a podcast from Rob Dial or Lewis Howes. I take the motivation and methods that they teach into my daily life and business model as a coach and entrepreneur!
