Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Taylor Green. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Taylor, looking forward to hearing all of your stories today. Coming up with the idea is so exciting, but then comes the hard part – executing. Too often the media ignores the execution part and goes from idea to success, skipping over the nitty, gritty details of executing in the early days. We think that’s a disservice both to the entrepreneurs who built something amazing as well as the public who isn’t getting a realistic picture of what it takes to succeed. So, we’d really appreciate if you could open up about your execution story – how did you go from idea to execution?
It all began when I shared pictures of the cakes I had made for my family birthday party on my Instagram story. My followers were curious and kept asking where I had bought them, which made me realize I might be onto something special. Inspired by this response, I created a dedicated Instagram account the very next day, brainstorming names and new baking ideas. That’s when my sister suggested “Taylor Baked”, and the account launched! Just a week later, I received an invitation to participate in a local vending market, where I quickly sold out of my creations. As people posted pictures with their cakes, I began receiving orders for birthday cakes, baby shows, and weddings.
Balancing school with Taylor Baked has made for a wild college experience. As I prepare to graduate in the spring, I’m excited to take Taylor Baked to LA full-time and eventually open my first of many storefronts!

Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers.

Any stories or insights that might help us understand how you’ve built such a strong reputation?
What really helped me build my reputation within the market is staying true to who I am and what I love. When I started Taylor Baked, I wasn’t trying to follow trends—I just wanted to make beautiful cakes that felt personal and meaningful. From the beginning, I’ve been passionate about using fresh, organic ingredients and creating something unique with each cake. Incorporating real flowers, dried citrus, and herbs wasn’t just about aesthetics; it was about bringing a natural, organic feel to something as special as a cake. I think that authenticity has really resonated with my customers.

What’s been the best source of new clients for you?
The best source of new clients for me has been word-of-mouth and social media, hands down. It all started when I shared my cakes on Instagram, and the momentum just kept growing. Every time someone posted a picture of one of my cakes at their event and tagged me, it opened the door for more inquiries. People love sharing beautiful, unique things, especially when it’s tied to a personal celebration, and that’s how a lot of my business has spread—through the excitement of my customers sharing their experiences with Taylor Baked.
