Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Taylor Green. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Taylor, looking forward to hearing all of your stories today. Do you wish you had started sooner?
If I could go back, I would’ve definitely started my creative career sooner. I started blogging after a school assignment in 2016; however, I didn’t start really thinking about making more out of it, and expanding to YouTube until 2018. Even during 2018, I still never kept a tight schedule on things until recently. I feel like if I was able to truly focus on my long-term goals and take things more seriously back then, I would’ve been a lot further in my YouTube/content creation journey.

Taylor, love having you share your insights with us. Before we ask you more questions, maybe you can take a moment to introduce yourself to our readers who might have missed our earlier conversations?
I am a lifestyle content creator. I do “mom vlogs” on YouTube, posts about my life and family on my social platforms like Instagram and TikTok. I started blogging about fashion while in school for fashion marketing/management in 2016. After blogging, I wanted to expand my creativity and take a shot at YouTube because it seemed more up my alley. I liked the idea of making and editing videos my own way and making fun, lighthearted content. My current content focuses a lot on my life as a wife and mom. When I got pregnant, I looked on YouTube to find more wives and moms that I could relate to but there wasn’t a lot of women on there who were around my age or looked like me, so if I could be that person for someone else, I know I’m doing something right.
What’s a lesson you had to unlearn and what’s the backstory?
A lesson I had to unlearn is to not worry about the “numbers”. Lately I’ve grown extremely frustrated with these social media apps because of how much they’ve altered their algorithms for capitalistic gain, so people like me who enjoy posting organic content aren’t getting as many views or engagement as we once did. But, at the end of the day, if you enjoy posting content, just do it. The numbers are going to fluctuate but if it makes you feel good, it’ll find your core audience eventually. Just go for it.

Looking back, are there any resources you wish you knew about earlier in your creative journey?
Canva is the main resource I wish I knew about earlier because it’s such a great platform for thumbnails, Instagram stories, logo creation, literally anything. I’ve even used Canva recently to design and order t-shirts for my daughter’s 1st birthday and it was such an easy, user-friendly process. I recently upgraded to CanvaPro and I use it for everything now.
