Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Taylor Grace Holzheuser . We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Taylor Grace, thanks for joining us, excited to have you contributing your stories and insights. So let’s jump to your mission – what’s the backstory behind how you developed the mission that drives your brand?
My biggest goal as a photographer is to make my clients feel beautiful in their own skin. The society we live in has us comparing ourselves to others and truly affects our self esteem. I know that I have struggled with body image issues myself and nothing makes me feel better than helping others with their self confidence!
Taylor Grace, love having you share your insights with us. Before we ask you more questions, maybe you can take a moment to introduce yourself to our readers who might have missed our earlier conversations?
My name is Taylor Grace Holzheuser! I am a wife, mother, photographer, blogger, and cosmetologist. I started my business, T. Grace Photography, five years ago this year. I have loved every second of capturing my clients and the biggest moments in their lives. My biggest inspiration in starting this journey was my grandmother, Nancy. She was a world traveler and friend to everyone she met. She documented every aspect of her life and travels through photographs. When she passed away, we could relive all of those precious moments through the photos she took along the way. I knew that I wanted to leave something for my friends and family to look back on, so I started snapping pictures of anything and everything with my mom’s camera when I was 18 years old. I enjoyed it so much that I decided to start taking on clientele. Throughout the years I have found my specialties in the profession and my biggest and most favorite things to capture are senior portraits and families. In recent years, I have been able to combine both of my careers and I have added on the option of hair and makeup for senior sessions. Being able to meet with my clients before the session really makes the whole process a fun, wholesome experience instead of an intimidating one. I believe that this business was one of my greatest callings in life. I have met so many people and have had so many experiences through photography. It is truly a blessing!
Any insights you can share with us about how you built up your social media presence?
The biggest help in growing my social media presence was posting every day and getting on a personal level with my followers. Sharing bits and pieces, good and bad, about your life really helps you relate to everyone. The rise of apps like TikTok have also helped tremendously! I have been able to reach a broader audience around the world with the help of it.
Alright – let’s talk about marketing or sales – do you have any fun stories about a risk you’ve taken or something else exciting on the sales and marketing side?
I took a leap of faith in 2019 and took my love of photography and fashion to New York fashion week. As an 18 year old, that was a huge deal for me. I was a very shy teenager and cared way too much of what others thought. The whole experience in New York taught me how to engage with others, taught me how to market my brand, and really expanded my creativity. It pushed me out of my comfort zone and I am forever grateful for the people I met and the experiences I had on that trip!
