We recently connected with Taylor Cox and have shared our conversation below.
Taylor, appreciate you joining us today. We’d love to hear the story behind how you got your first job in field that you currently practice in.
When I started working with a chiropractor in 2011, I had absolutely no idea how chiropractic was going to change my life when I walked into that door. In the beginning of my career, I really didn’t know the reach of things and illnesses that chiropractic has the potential to help with. It wasn’t until chiropractic changed my life that I knew I needed to spread the message of chiropractic to the world. I will never forget the first time I helped someone else feel better. The true joy that comes from seeing hope again in a parents eyes over their child, to helping a grandparent to play with their grandchildren again, allowing an athlete to play their favorite sport again, and an overall change in someone’s health. Personally I have gone through chiropractic changing my anxiety and depression. And I attribute all of this joy and career to my first ever chiropractic position. I was nervous, I was excited, I was so eager to help others. I was thinking about how I could make this job my own, how I could blend my family and my dreams into my own practice one day. The perfect job in South Carolina found me and I could not be more grateful that this career path has found me
As always, we appreciate you sharing your insights and we’ve got a few more questions for you, but before we get to all of that can you take a minute to introduce yourself and give our readers some of your background and context?
My name is Dr. Taylor Cox, and I am a Doctor of Chiropractic. My family practice specializes in pregnancy/ postpartum and pediatrics. We see families of all ages, and sizes. We are a spinal correction office, that is Webster certified and more. We offer chiropractic care, soft tissue mobilization, traction, cupping therapy, Electrical stem, heat and more. We are located inside of a wellness center with many modalities to suite all of your healthcare needs in downtown Holly springs.
We see patients for constipation, fertility concerns, colic, chronic illness, GI concerns, headaches, pain management, ADHD, mental health, prenatal, pediatrics, geriatrics, spinal correction, scoliosis, TMJ, pelvic floor, bedwetting, and so much more.
What sets us apart is our devotion to getting you better. We spend time with our patients, listening to their concerns and dive into the best way to get them healthier. We do specific chiropractic adjustments based off of x-rays and neurological scans to make sure we are making the changes your body needs.
I am so proud of the growth in our office in over two years. We opened this practice during the pandemic and it has only continued to grow since. Putting your sweat and tears into a business and seeing the reward in your patients exponential growth of health is beyond what words can describe.
We are here for families. Families who want something more, something bigger. We are a resource, and we hope you will use us!
Do you think you’d choose a different profession or specialty if you were starting now?
Absolutely not! I love this practice, because I can follow my passions and make them into something that helps others each and everyday. When we opened this practice we were simply chiropractic care. Now we have started a directory that helps mothers and parents find their providers for pregnancy and postpartum. We started a postpartum course, prenatal courses, and so much more all because those were my passions. This was the life we were living and realized that parents needed so much more. So, we became that resource. This profession is everything I have ever dreamed, and I wouldn’t trade it.
Putting training and knowledge aside, what else do you think really matters in terms of succeeding in your field?
I think it is important to care about your patients. To truly act as if everyone that walks in your door, is a beloved family member, and that they deserve the best. I think its important to understand that everyone has “stuff” and that once they step in my door, it is my job to help them find the correct resources they need. I don’t know that this is what is the most helpful for becoming successful in my field, but to me it is one of the most important. As a doctor of chiropractic, my job is teach and treat. To help my patients understand what they are going through, and give them an avenue to get better.
We strive to do our best at Hometown chiropractic, and nothing less.
