We recently connected with Taylor Brune and have shared our conversation below.
Taylor, looking forward to hearing all of your stories today. Owning a business isn’t always glamorous and so most business owners we’ve connected with have shared that on tough days they sometimes wonder what it would have been like to have just had a regular job instead of all the responsibility of running a business. Have you ever felt that way?
Yes, I am much happier as a business owner now than when I was working in the hospital system. I was mistreated by surgeons and doctors who would verbally and emotionally abuse me and I would find myself crying in the exam rooms in between patients. I was miserable and my health was declining. God brought me out of that with good experience and much growth. He led me to my purpose path which is running this business. I am able to choose which clients I work with and if any clients mistreat me, I can choose to not have them as my clients anymore. I feel valued by the clients I do have and respected as well. The medical field is a difficult field to work in for many reasons. From going to being treated poorly by select surgeons, to being respected and listened to by world renowned physicians and surgeons is truly a dream. I now teach physician entrepreneurs about marketing and business in monthly workshops in addition to the services I offer. It is so purposeful and aligned with my calling. I worked a regular 9-5 up until starting this business, so I never want to go back. I now know the value and freedom I receive by owning and operating my own business. It is truly freeing and healing. It is also one of the most challenging things that grows you and expands you in all ways. But it is so rewarding.

Awesome – so before we get into the rest of our questions, can you briefly introduce yourself to our readers.
My name is Taylor Brune, and I am the Founder and CEO of The Medical Minder Virtual Agency. My journey into this industry was not something I planned from the beginning. It evolved through years of working alongside physicians, healthcare professionals, and entrepreneurs who were struggling to balance patient care with the overwhelming demands of running a business.
As I worked with more healthcare professionals, I recognized a significant gap in the industry. Many physicians are exceptional clinicians, but they often find themselves buried in administrative work, marketing responsibilities, content creation, team management, and business operations that take them away from what they do best, caring for patients. I saw firsthand how burnout was affecting healthcare providers and realized there was an opportunity to create a solution that offered both operational support and strategic growth.
What started as helping a few physicians with administrative and marketing needs has grown into a full service virtual agency that supports healthcare professionals, coaches, authors, speakers, and entrepreneurs across the country. Today, The Medical Minder specializes in digital marketing and business growth strategies, including sales funnels, paid advertising, social media management, course and program creation, program management, email marketing, podcast marketing, and business operations support. We help our clients build scalable systems that increase visibility, generate leads, nurture audiences, and create sustainable growth. By becoming an extension of our clients’ teams, we allow them to focus on their expertise while we manage the strategy, implementation, and day to day operations that keep their businesses moving forward.
What sets The Medical Minder apart is our deep understanding of the healthcare space. We are not a generic marketing agency trying to learn the language of medicine. Our team has extensive experience working with physicians, healthcare practices, coaches, authors, speakers, and healthcare entrepreneurs. We understand compliance considerations, patient centered messaging, physician schedules, and the unique challenges healthcare professionals face when building their brands and businesses.
I am especially proud of the relationships we have built with our clients. Many of the physicians we work with have been with us for years because we prioritize trust, communication, and genuine partnership. Our goal has never been to simply provide a service. Our goal is to become a reliable resource that helps our clients grow their impact while creating more freedom in their lives.
One of the accomplishments I am most proud of is growing the agency from a small virtual support business into a thriving company that has helped numerous of healthcare professionals expand their reach, launch programs, publish books, grow podcasts, build personal brands, and ultimately help more patients. Seeing our clients achieve goals they once thought were out of reach is incredibly rewarding.
At the core of everything we do is the belief that healthcare professionals deserve support. They dedicate their lives to serving others, and our mission is to help them reclaim their time, reduce overwhelm, and build sustainable businesses that align with their vision and values.
If there is one thing I want people to know about me and The Medical Minder, it is that we genuinely care about our clients’ success. We treat every project, brand, and business as if it were our own. Our work is built on relationships, integrity, creativity, and a commitment to helping healthcare professionals make a greater impact in the world. We are passionate about helping our clients turn their ideas into reality while giving them the support they need to thrive professionally and personally.
Can you open up about how you funded your business?
I funded The Medical Minder entirely through bootstrapping. There was no outside investment, business loan, or venture capital. I started by providing services myself and reinvesting every dollar earned back into the business. As revenue grew, I used those funds to expand our team, improve systems, invest in technology, and build the infrastructure needed to support more clients.
One of the things I am most proud of is that I have never had to rely on paid advertising to grow the company. (Yet. I may do this one day, but now I have been blessed where I do not need to market consistently) Our growth has been fueled primarily through referrals, word of mouth, and the relationships we have built with our clients. When you consistently deliver quality work and exceptional service, people naturally share their experiences with others.
Another major driver of growth has been education. I regularly host online workshops where I teach physicians and healthcare professionals about business growth, marketing strategies, social media marketing, and brand development. These workshops allow me to provide value first, build trust, and help healthcare professionals understand how to grow their businesses effectively. Many attendees eventually become clients because they see the expertise, strategy, and support that our team provides.
From the beginning, my philosophy has been simple: build sustainably, focus on serving people well, and reinvest in growth. That approach has allowed The Medical Minder to scale organically while maintaining strong relationships and a reputation built on results.

Can you open up about a time when you had a really close call with the business?
Thankfully, I have never missed payroll, but I did experience one of the most challenging seasons of my entrepreneurial journey. There was a seven month period leading up to a presidential election when it felt like every door was closing. Lead after lead would come through, but nobody was signing on. The feedback was almost identical every single time. They felt our prices were too high, even though our rates were already significantly lower than most agencies in the industry. Many prospective clients were expecting to pay less than $100 per month for marketing support, which simply was not realistic for the level of service we provided. I was blessed to have my long term clients still, but it was not enough to pay my bills. This was year 3 of my business I believe.
During that season, the phones were quiet, inquiries slowed down, and I watched my savings steadily disappear. For the first time, I found myself relying heavily on my husband’s income as an EMT while trying to keep the business moving forward. It was emotionally draining and forced me to confront a lot of my own fears and past money trauma. There were many moments when I questioned what was happening and whether I should change direction.
Instead of allowing fear to take over, I made a conscious decision to view that season differently. I realized that if it was not harvest season, then it must be seed planting season.
I committed to showing up every single day. I continued posting on social media across multiple platforms. I kept hosting workshops and educational presentations for physicians. I reached out to people, nurtured relationships, and continued serving my audience even when there was no immediate return. Most importantly, I used the extra time to invest in myself and my business. I enrolled in multiple programs and training courses focused on Meta advertising and paid traffic so I could expand my expertise and eventually offer an entirely new service to clients.
Looking back, those seven months ended up being one of the most valuable periods in my business. They taught me resilience, patience, and the importance of continuing to build even when the results are not immediately visible. Eventually, the season shifted. New clients began signing on, opportunities from social media started appearing, referrals increased, and the skills I had invested in learning opened up additional revenue streams for the business.
That experience taught me a lesson I carry with me today. Every business goes through seasons. There are seasons of planting and seasons of harvest. During the planting seasons, it is easy to become discouraged because you do not immediately see the results of your efforts. But those are often the seasons that lay the foundation for future growth. I learned that even when business feels slow, you cannot stop investing in yourself, serving your audience, and building for the future. The seeds you plant today often become the opportunities that sustain your business tomorrow.
