Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Taylor Bratlien. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Taylor , appreciate you joining us today. We’d love to have you retell us the story behind how you came up with the idea for your business, I think our audience would really enjoy hearing the backstory.
The idea for our business actually started with my business partner, Grace. One night, we were just hanging out and chatting about life—being moms, the struggles of balancing everything, and how we both felt like we needed something more. Grace, being the creative one, was the first to bring up the idea of doing something together, but something that was fun and different.
She had this moment of inspiration, and it clicked—what if we offered a new kind of bar service with a slushy machine? We both loved the idea of a mobile bar but wanted to add our own spin on it. Grace thought, “Why not mix up traditional cocktails with frozen slushies? It could totally change the vibe of an event and give people something unexpected and exciting.” And honestly, once she said it, it just made sense.
What really got us excited was how simple but fresh it felt. We weren’t just offering drinks, we were offering an experience—a cool, chill vibe where people could enjoy fun, colorful slushy cocktails at parties, weddings, and events. It was different from what anyone else was doing, and it felt like something that could stand out in a crowded market.
For me, I loved that it was something we could easily take on as moms. We could make our own schedules, work at our own pace, and build something together. Grace had this vision that was so clear, and once she shared it, we both knew it was something worth pursuing. It wasn’t just about making money, it was about doing something that felt fun and meaningful—something that would allow us to be creative and connect with people in a new way. So, we jumped in and started figuring out how to make this idea happen.

Awesome – so before we get into the rest of our questions, can you briefly introduce yourself to our readers.
We’re The Social Sip, a mobile bar service that specializes in frozen slushy cocktails and mocktails. We’re two moms, Taylor and Grace, who wanted to create something fun and different for events. Our unique twist? We serve colorful, frozen slushies that add an exciting vibe to any party or celebration. Whether it’s boozy or alcohol-free, we’ve got something for everyone! What sets us apart is that we’re not just serving drinks—we’re creating a memorable experience. We’re proud of how far we’ve come and love making every event a little more vibrant and fun!

Can you tell us the story behind how you met your business partner?
Grace and I knew each other in high school, though she’s a bit younger than me. We didn’t really get close until later when our husbands, who were roommates, stayed close friends. As we both became moms, we started hanging out more with our kids, and that’s when we realized how well we clicked. So, when the idea for The Social Sip came up, teaming up just felt like a natural fit!
