Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Taylor Bodis. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Hi Taylor, thanks for joining us today. What do you think it takes to be successful?
I truly think that when you go into a career with pure intentions, that is when you experience success. Truly and honestly loving what you do, and what it does for people.

Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers
Hey there! I am Taylor, and I am a Boudoir photographer based in Ohio. I get asked this question alot, and its always hard for me to totally pin down the thing that made me choose this path. I started photographing when I was very young. And when I say photographing, I say that lightly. I picked up my moms cheap Kodak digital camera, found Flickr and quickly realized that I enjoyed it. I used my mom as a model and we just had fun with it. I wasn’t good, Im talking Vignettes and selective color not good. But everyone starts somewhere.
When I started doing photography I had no idea where it would lead, I just knew I enjoyed it. I started doing friends photos, families and seniors. But I didnt have my first boudoir shoot for a while after I started shooting. I remember I had a client come to me, and she had so much faith in me to do these sexy, vulnerable photos of her. I really didnt know what I was doing, but somehow it just felt easy, like it just felt right. After that session it just kind of became what I loved most. I started a Facebook page with my work, and really just wanted to create a safe space for women. I wanted so badly to be able to show others how beautiful they were.
Little did I know that the Facebook page would become what it is now. It started out with just a few women and quickly grew to the thousands. I didn’t realize how many women wanted this type of experience. When I began boudoir wasn’t as popular as it is now. I honestly didn’t realize the impact that these sessions can have for women until about a year in. I started getting women telling me how the session changed them. That they were finally able to see themselves as others see them. I love hyping others up, it just felt natural.
I have been told by my clients that the thing that sets me apart from others is my openness and vulnerability with my own struggles. I want others to see that everyday isn’t going to be perfect. Body neutrality and acceptance is something that we all have to work on everyday. But that it is possible.
Truly doing what I do has also helped me. I struggled with body dysmorphia all my life. I was always putting off my happiness for the next diet. I see so much of what I went thru in so many others, and I truly just want to help as many women as possible gain that power back. I am really the most proud of that. That I have the ability to be able to help anyone love themselves a little more. I truly have so much gratitude for what I get to do.
We’d love to hear the story of how you built up your social media audience?
I think I entered the social media presence when Facebook wasn’t so finicky. I was able to start a VIP group and truly that was the best thing I ever did for my business. I was able to connect to my audience, share personal stories in a safe space. I truly believe if you have pure intentions and you lead your business with transparency, that is the best way to target your client.

For you, what’s the most rewarding aspect of being a creative?
Seeing clients change from the beginning of their session to the end is by far the best feeling. Being able to be free with my creativity, and having clients that trust me and the process. But hands down, the pure joy I see in my clients eyes when they see themselves on my camera is all I need.
