We were lucky to catch up with Taylor Bell recently and have shared our conversation below.
Taylor, appreciate you joining us today. Let’s start with the story of your mission. What should we know?
If you asked me this question a year ago I would say my mission was to capture the beauty with my camera that I see In real life. This year has taught me how short and sweet life can be, so I have focused rebranding my business to revolve on capturing the season of life my clients are in. To a tell a story of love, or new life. Life certain times of life doesn’t always seem like a beautiful time but I can promise when you look back on it you’ll be glad you have those memories to hold on to forever.

Awesome – so before we get into the rest of our questions, can you briefly introduce yourself to our readers.
Since I was a kid I stole my dads Polaroid he would limit me to a few pictures a week but it was never enough for me. My passion grew as I got older and was able to take photography classes through high school. I started my first year of college taking a photo class when half was through my first semester I got a full time photography job at a child photography studio. I soon decided hands on experience was better than any course I could’ve taken. I started to devote my life into photography, my job and soon starting my business. I slowly starting taking clients of my own for a few years but once the studio shut down because of the pandemic is when my business blossomed. Finally the world was on my page of being outside, casual and finally just had some time to relax and have a little fun through the tough times. By January 2022 I was able to confidentially solely run my business full time. I spent the last year learning who I am as a business owner, learn who my ideal clients are and learning how amazing the people who surround me with love and support truly are. I pride myself in being a the best dog mom and spent my early years chasing my soul dog around the beach learning how to take use my camera up to its full potential. I always say she taught me how to shoot and I do truly believe that. In April 2020 I welcomed a new pup into my life after a loss of my last by February of 2022, two years and one month into her life she was diagnosed with stage 5 lymphoma in that time I built this insane following of people who just understood how much my dogs mean to me. Almost every single one of my clients include their dogs in their sessions now because being open about our story opened their eyes too. It’s been almost a year and I still have people who are booking me because they know I understand that love. I don’t sculpt my business and my clients around just people with dogs but I do believe the tragic loss I endured this spring has opened my eyes on the important things to capture. How to make sure to zoom in on the small things and notice the sweet gestures that might just feel like an everyday thing to you and be able to tell this love story you didn’t even know was happening right in front of your eyes.
Because of my approach on story telling through photography I don’t have a specific niche and I do believe that’s what sets me apart from others in the industry. If you’re looking to just capture a season of life you’re in and we click well and your inquiry makes my heart happy you bet we’re making magic no matter what type of session it is. Your story deserves to be told.
What do you find most rewarding about being a creative?
For me the most rewarding aspect of my business is being welcomed into these huge moments of my clients lives. Being trusted and treated like family throughout the process. To come as a stranger and leave getting a hug. Creating these beautiful friendships that have lasted for years and being one of the first person called when there’s big news that needs to be captured.

Alright – let’s talk about marketing or sales – do you have any fun stories about a risk you’ve taken or something else exciting on the sales and marketing side?
Early 2022 a client emailed me to see if I shot weddings. I explained to her it’s not really my thing and I short events often but at that time shooting a full “classic” wedding day wasn’t my jam. She went on to tell me that they dont care and just want me to be there to capture their day because it’s so my style and I’m going to have so much fun. Man, were they right. I had so much fun I even left and called one of my fellow photographer friends on my way home and said “I don’t know what’s happening right now but I think I need to start booking weddings I’ve never had so much fun” I went on to post a reel of their day and went viral with 8.2 million views and over 1k followers. I was able to big 8 big weddings for the following year.
