We recently connected with Taylor Adams and have shared our conversation below.
Alright, Taylor thanks for taking the time to share your stories and insights with us today. So let’s jump to your mission – what’s the backstory behind how you developed the mission that drives your brand?
As a boudoir photographer, my mission is to help women love their bodies how they are now. Growing up I struggled with loving my body and being ok with where I was in the moment. I never was truly over weight I just never was super skinny. I grew up in a home where I was always told that I needed to lose weight, work out, eat better since I was fat and out of shape. It was truly hard and I still struggle with my body being told that all the time switching my mind to your body is perfect the way it is. Now after just having my second child I am working daily to love how my body looks with my stretch marks, cellulite, and my scars. Due to my past it makes my want to help others on their journey to love their bodies how they look now and not how the world wants you to look. I feel like I am able to connect more with my clients because of my past and going through the same thing that they are. Together we can empower each other and change our mind set to love our beautiful bodies. To remember what miracles they can do and get us through everything. We only have one body so we might as well love it!

Taylor, before we move on to more of these sorts of questions, can you take some time to bring our readers up to speed on you and what you do?
I am a stay at home mom of 2. I have a 3 year old son and a newborn little girl. I started my business when my son was 2 months old I wanted to give myself something since I lost myself and also wanted to be able to bring in a little extra money for our family. Once I started my business and found my why it helped me find my purpose other than being a mom, it made me want to capture people as they are and that’s why I started doing boudoir a year into my business. I offer boudoir and couples photography with seasonal family photos and Santa minis. I understand how hard it is to find outfits and what you need to do to prepare for your session. I offer prep guides and boudoir client wardrobe. I am here to help you with anything from your outfits, posing, and helping with your timeline for your wedding. I love to help all my boudoir clients love their bodies now and be confident in their own skin. I am here to make it easier for you and stress free! I do client calls to get to know you better and help you feel comfortable with me so I can serve you even better and make the session the best I possibly can! Just know that I am here for you and will answer any and all questions so you have nothing to work about! I can’t wait to work with you!
For you, what’s the most rewarding aspect of being a creative?
The most rewarding aspect for me is when my boudoir clients literally change their countenance during their sessions. They walk out totally different than they walked into their session. I love seeing the change I am able to make in their lives and help on their self love journey!

Can you share a story from your journey that illustrates your resilience?
Last year I tried opening a studio outside of my home, I got furniture, a coffee bar, and lots of new items for my client wardrobe. However, it didn’t work out and I had to start working out of my home studio again. I could have given up and stopped taking photos however, it actually work out for the better and taught me a lot of things about my business and taking chances. I might have failed but your failures teach you lessons and I learned so much and my business has grown from that lesson. The main thing I learned is to not give up if you fail, learn from it and move on.
