Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Tayler Whitters. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Tayler, thanks for taking the time to share your stories with us today We’d love to have you retell us the story behind how you came up with the idea for your business, I think our audience would really enjoy hearing the backstory.
The idea for Taylered2U didn’t hit me in a moment of silence or stillness—it struck while I was elbow-deep in lab coats and spreadsheets, formulating products for some of the biggest beauty brands on the shelves of Sephora, Target, and Walmart.
I was a chemical and project engineer, working behind the scenes in a contract manufacturing facility that powered household-name skincare lines. On the surface, it all looked glossy and glamorous. But when you peeked behind the curtain? It told a very different story. I saw brands label their serums with trendy ingredient names like “Hyaluronic Acid” or “Peptides” while formulating them with barely a sprinkle of the actual active. It wasn’t just misleading—it was a betrayal of trust.
That was the moment I realized: the beauty industry had a transparency problem. And I couldn’t unsee it.
As someone who was already passionate about science, health, and skincare, I knew I had the knowledge and drive to do things differently. I wasn’t just frustrated—I was fueled. I wanted to create a brand rooted in truth. No marketing smoke and mirrors. No filler ingredients just for a label claim. Just clean, highly effective formulas that honor your skin—and your body—from the inside out.
But the mission went deeper than just a label.
Several years ago, I battled serious health issues that were traced back, in part, to daily chemical exposures—from the kinds of products many of us use without a second thought. That experience lit a fire in me. I became obsessed with what we put on and around our bodies: skincare, hair care, cleaning supplies, laundry detergents. I saw firsthand how these everyday choices affect our hormones, our immune systems, our energy—our lives.
So I took a leap. I walked away from a stable corporate paycheck, rolled up my sleeves, and launched Taylered2U—a brand dedicated to clean beauty without compromise.
Was I scared? Absolutely. I didn’t have all the answers when I started. But I had passion, purpose, and a crystal-clear reason why. And that was stronger than fear.
From day one, Taylered2U has been about more than skincare. It’s about reclaiming our health. It’s about honoring the body’s intelligence. And yes, it’s about feeling confident in your skin with products that actually work—because they’re formulated right.
Clean beauty isn’t just a trend. It’s a movement—and one I knew was here to stay.
What excites me most isn’t just selling a jar of body butter or a bottle of oil—it’s seeing the shift. Watching customers light up when they realize that caring for their skin doesn’t mean compromising their health. That’s the magic. That’s the masterpiece I dreamed of as a little girl—and it’s just the beginning.

Tayler, love having you share your insights with us. Before we ask you more questions, maybe you can take a moment to introduce yourself to our readers who might have missed our earlier conversations?
For those just discovering Taylered2U, allow me to introduce myself. I’m the founder, formulator, and the heart behind the brand—and my journey into skincare wasn’t just a passion project, it was a purpose-driven evolution rooted in both science and soul.
I started my academic path at the University of Iowa, where I earned my degree in chemical engineering. From there, I went on to pursue my master’s in pharmaceuticals and cosmetic science—a blend of two worlds that would later become the foundation for my brand. But the real magic? That came from the lab. I spent years formulating for some of the biggest names in beauty at a contract manufacturing facility, working alongside an incredibly talented team of chemists.
It was there that I fell in love with the art and science of formulation. Creating skincare is like choreographing a dance between ingredients, function, and feeling. You get to marry logic with creativity. And that’s where I thrive.
Taylered2U is where I get to bring that creativity to life—on my own terms. Right now, we offer five thoughtfully crafted, high-performance products: a silky cleanser, a refreshing toner, a luxe body butter, a multitasking hair + body oil, and a one-of-a-kind body melt that doubles as a candle and a moisturizer. And trust me, we’re just getting started.
But what really sets us apart isn’t just what’s in the products—it’s the heart behind them.
I created Taylered2U with the intention of transparency, integrity, and impact. Every formula is clean, effective, and designed with your well-being in mind. No greenwashing. No fluff. Just products that feel good, work hard, and support your body’s natural brilliance.
One thing I’m most proud of? The connection I’ve been able to build with my community. As a small brand, I have the gift of hearing from the people using my products—and there’s nothing more rewarding than a message from a customer saying they feel confident in their skin again. That’s the stuff that keeps me going.
At Taylered2U, it’s not just about skincare—it’s about self-trust, self-worth, and feeling good in your body again. My goal isn’t just to sell you something. My goal is to change the way you see yourself—with formulas that were built for real results, not just pretty packaging.
So if you’re new here, welcome. I’m so glad you found us. You’re not just another customer—you’re part of a movement.

Do you sell on your site, or do you use a platform like Amazon, Etsy, Cratejoy, etc?
Taylered2U is proudly sold exclusively through our own ecommerce website—and that’s very intentional.
While major platforms like Amazon, Etsy, and Cratejoy have their place, they come with hefty fees, intense competition, and often require small brands to sacrifice either margins or visibility (or both). In a space where big-name corporations are spending millions just to stay at the top of search results, it’s nearly impossible for an indie brand like mine to be discovered without a massive ad budget.
By selling directly through our site, I’m able to keep prices honest, ensure a curated brand experience from start to finish, and most importantly—stay in control. No third-party limitations. No algorithm dictating whether you see us or not. Just pure connection between us and our customers.
It also gives me the ability to interact more personally with my community, provide thoughtful customer service, and create a seamless, elevated experience that reflects what Taylered2U is all about.
In a world of oversaturation and mass marketing, I believe there’s something powerful about keeping it personal. That’s the heart of what we do—and it’s what makes all the difference.

Do you have multiple revenue streams – if so, can you talk to us about those streams and how your developed them?
While Taylered2U is my primary focus, I’ve also developed a supplementary revenue stream that’s deeply connected to my roots in cosmetic science: custom formulation for other aspiring beauty founders.
Because of my background in pharmaceuticals and cosmetic science and my experience formulating for large-scale brands, I’ve been able to help individuals bring their own skincare visions to life—whether that means creating a signature product to complement their current offerings or launching an entire brand from scratch.
It’s a natural extension of what I love: science, creativity, and empowering people with the tools to build something meaningful. And honestly? There’s something incredibly rewarding about helping others step into the world of clean beauty with products they’re proud of.
So yes, while I’m building Taylered2U, I’m also quietly working behind the scenes, pouring my knowledge into the next wave of beauty entrepreneurs. It’s part passion project, part business—and fully aligned with my mission to raise the bar in this industry.
