We were lucky to catch up with Tay Fae recently and have shared our conversation below.
Tay, looking forward to hearing all of your stories today. So let’s jump to your mission – what’s the backstory behind how you developed the mission that drives your brand?
The mission of Beyond the Mask is to create a safe, intentional space for storytelling—where individuals can openly share their transformative experiences with psychedelics and herbal medicine. This podcast was born out of a desire to break down stigmas and offer a platform for voices that often go unheard. Through these personal narratives, we explore how natural medicines can shift our perspectives, deepen self-awareness, and support our journeys toward healing and growth.
At its core, Beyond the Mask is about reclaiming our connection to nature and the ancient wisdom it holds. I truly believe that when we align with the rhythms of the Earth and open ourselves to plant-based healing, we step into our true power. My mission is to impact the world by spreading healing tools, spiritual insights, and real stories that remind people of their innate ability to heal, transform, and reconnect with their divine purpose. This work is meaningful to me because I’ve seen firsthand how these journeys can spark a return to authenticity, self-love, and inner peace—and I want to share that light with others.

Tay, love having you share your insights with us. Before we ask you more questions, maybe you can take a moment to introduce yourself to our readers who might have missed our earlier conversations?
For those who are just getting to know me, my journey began with a deep, personal quest for healing and self-discovery. I didn’t set out to create a brand—I followed a calling. Through my own experiences with psychedelics, energy work, and holistic healing, I was guided toward a path of service. That path has since evolved into Beyond the Mask, a storytelling platform and healing space where people can explore the deeper layers of themselves, share their truths, and reconnect with their inner wisdom.
I work with individuals who are navigating transformation—whether they’re integrating psychedelic experiences, reconnecting with their bodies, or seeking emotional and spiritual alignment. My work blends intuitive guidance, energy healing, sound, and heart-centered conversation. I hold space for others to process, reflect, and truly feel seen—not just for who they are, but for who they are becoming.
What sets me apart isn’t just the tools I use, but the way I approach healing. I’m not here to “fix” anyone—I’m here to witness, support, and remind them that they already hold the power to heal. My role is to create sacred containers where people feel safe to release, remember, and rise.
What I’m most proud of is the community that’s grown around this work. Watching people shed layers, reclaim their voice, and step into their authenticity is the deepest honor. More than anything, I want people to know that this isn’t just a brand—it’s a movement rooted in love, presence, and purpose. Beyond the Mask is an invitation to go inward, connect with nature and spirit, and reimagine what healing can look like when we walk it together.

What’s a lesson you had to unlearn and what’s the backstory?
One of the biggest lessons I had to unlearn was the belief that healing had to look a certain way—or that it had to happen on someone else’s timeline. Early in my journey, I thought healing meant reaching some perfect version of myself, quickly and neatly. But through my work with plant medicines, energy healing, and deep self-reflection, I realized that healing is anything but linear. It’s messy, layered, and ongoing. True healing isn’t about perfection; it’s about learning to embrace yourself fully, even in the spaces that feel unfinished.
Another lesson I had to unlearn was the idea that I had to walk this path alone. For a long time, I believed that strength meant carrying everything by myself. But the more I opened myself to community—through sacred circles, mentorship, and meaningful connections—the more I realized that healing thrives in community. We aren’t meant to heal in isolation. We are mirrors for each other, offering reflections, support, and reminders of who we are when we forget.
Both of these lessons have deeply shaped how I show up in my work. Beyond the Mask isn’t just a platform—it’s a community, a reminder that we heal together, and that every stage of the journey is sacred. My mission now is to create spaces where people feel held, seen, and celebrated exactly where they are.

We’d love to hear a story of resilience from your journey.
One story that really illustrates my resilience is the journey I took to embrace my role as a healer and guide. For a long time, even though I was deeply committed to my own healing and growth, I carried a lot of resistance when it came to stepping into that role for others. I doubted whether I was “ready” or “qualified” enough to teach, guide, and hold space. That lack of confidence kept me playing small, questioning whether I was capable of making the impact I dreamed of.
Everything shifted when I decided to spend five months abroad in Thailand. Being immersed in a different culture, far from everything familiar, gave me a new perspective. I witnessed firsthand how powerful it is to step outside your comfort zone and trust yourself. Thailand became a mirror, reflecting on the strength, wisdom, and courage that had been inside me all along. I realized that the only thing truly standing in my way was fear—and once I chose to face it, everything opened.
That experience gave me the confidence to fully embrace my gifts, to trust that I have everything I need within me, and to understand that growth doesn’t come from waiting until you feel ready—it comes from moving forward anyway.
Resilience, for me, was about believing in my ability to create, heal, and lead, even when self-doubt tried to convince me otherwise. And now, through Beyond the Mask, I help others find that same courage within themselves.
