We were lucky to catch up with Tay Bhogadia recently and have shared our conversation below.
Tay, looking forward to hearing all of your stories today. How did you learn to do what you do? Knowing what you know now, what could you have done to speed up your learning process? What skills do you think were most essential? What obstacles stood in the way of learning more?
I don’t believe you can ever fully know everything about acting—or anything, for that matter. You’ll always be a student, and as long as you have that mindset and keep learning, you’ll continue to improve. I think it’s important to learn at your own pace, but just never stop completely, especially if it’s something you love and have a deep passion for. If you rush through the process, you might miss important steps. You also don’t want to put too much pressure on yourself, as that could lead to hating what you do. When it comes to skills, I would say it’s important to immerse yourself in different techniques to see what works for you. I’ve studied Meisner, Stella Adler, and more. They won’t work for everyone, but by learning different techniques, you can discover what suits you best, and that’s when you can begin to develop and refine your skills. As for obstacles that stood in my way of learning, time would have to be the biggest one. But remember, you have to make time for what you love, as it gives life purpose and fulfillment.

Tay, love having you share your insights with us. Before we ask you more questions, maybe you can take a moment to introduce yourself to our readers who might have missed our earlier conversations?
I’m originally from the UK and didn’t find my path to acting until later on. After graduating from university with a Bachelor of Science in Business Management and Public Policy, I worked for Nissan Motor Corporation in their PR department and later in their Marketing function. I had always been creative and wanted to explore that side of myself further. So, I left my job to take a course in acting. I enjoyed it so much that I decided to continue my studies, and of course, I went to the epicenter—Los Angeles. I began studying at the Stella Adler Academy, and now I’m currently taking on-camera classes at Brian Cutler’s Actors Studio.
Alongside acting, I’m also taking real estate classes at UCLA to expand my knowledge in the field and begin my journey into property investment. One day, I hope to obtain an MBA to further my education.
In addition to acting and real estate, I have a deep passion for photography, especially street photography. I love capturing the beauty in the mundane, finding moments of significance in everyday life. There’s something truly special about documenting the ordinary and revealing its hidden stories.
Additionally, I’ve always loved to sing, and since a young age, I’ve been writing songs. One day, I hope to share them with the world.
I’ve always believed it’s important to make the most of life and do what you enjoy. It doesn’t have to be just one thing, and I think that’s the beauty of life—we can reinvent ourselves every day.

Is there a particular goal or mission driving your creative journey?
I want to be the best I can be at storytelling, to truly make people feel what the character is experiencing. The idea of translating those emotions through the screen to reach a wide audience is something I find incredibly fulfilling.

How can we best help foster a strong, supportive environment for artists and creatives?
Be understanding. Acting isn’t always seen as a ‘real profession’ in the traditional sense. People often associate impressive careers with roles like doctors, lawyers, or pharmacists. But I can tell you that acting is tough, and you won’t truly understand that until you try it for yourself. There’s so much more to it than most people realize! So, if you have a friend or family member who’s passionate about acting, support them. I’m incredibly grateful to my parents for their unwavering support throughout my journey
