We recently connected with Tausha Jackson and have shared our conversation below.
Tausha , thanks for taking the time to share your stories with us today How’s you first get into your field – what was your first job in this field?
I landed my first job as a Student Massage Therapist for a Chiropractor. I was referred by my Instructor, and to say I was nervous was an understatement! She was so confident in me and felt I was ready to put my skills to the test. It was challenging, however I was grateful for the experience. It actually helped me to learn the body faster and apply some of the things I’ve learned to my sessions. I also took the time to learn the Business, my goal was to launch my own Business in a year or two once I was comfortable enough to start seeing Clients on my own.
Having that experience early on has shaped me to be the Therapist I am today, I’m constantly learning so I can always deliver quality work.
As always, we appreciate you sharing your insights and we’ve got a few more questions for you, but before we get to all of that can you take a minute to introduce yourself and give our readers some of your back background and context?
I’m a native Houstonian, the youngest of 3 girls, wife and mother. I’m naturally nurturing and an empath. I got into Massage Therapy because it’s Therapeutic for me and my Clients. I’ve Massaged a variety of Clients, from Geriatrics to Special Needs. I’ve had Contracts with Hospitals, Schools and various Corporations. My goal as a Massage Therapist is to make sure each person I Massage has an experience, I stimulate all senses to insure ultimate relaxation. I currently work with ladies whom has had Plastic Surgery, they come to me in pain and full of uncertainty for their Recovery. After my session, they’re pain level has decreased and they have an understanding of what to expect during the Recovery.
