Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Tatyana Hope. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.

Tatyana , looking forward to hearing all of your stories today. Are you happy as a creative professional? Do you sometimes wonder what it would be like to work for someone else?

I am the happiest when I create. Sometimes I wonder how it would be not having a full time job and pursuing my passion full time. I think about it all the time, and one day I will bel able to make the leap. Right now I’m finishing up my biggest project, raising two awesome kids.

Awesome – so before we get into the rest of our questions, can you briefly introduce yourself to our readers.

I was born and raised in Russia. In 1999, I moved to the United States and attended Rocky Mountain College of Art and Design, graduating with BFA in Illustration and painting in 2006. Ever since, i have been hard at work developing my style, sharpening technique, and creating a body of work that im is proud of.
Tatyana is a classically trained expressionist and illustrator, and recently she became more involved with abstract work. What sets Tatyana’s work apart is the emotional connection to viewers, boldness, and her unique style. Often, Tatyana does not limit her pieces to one orientation; the beauty is that you can view most of the work in any direction and continue to discover new things. Vulnerability in Tatyana’s work is palpable, and she believes it is the most genuine path as an artist and human being.

What do you think is the goal or mission that drives your creative journey?

My mission is to keep going and growing in my art as well as inwardly.

What’s the most rewarding aspect of being a creative in your experience?

I prefer the audience not to know who I am, not to see me, but to see the art, completely devoid of everything, and evaluate it on its merits. I want people to experience my art before understanding it. After, that comes the most rewarding moment when my viewers share their experiences, feelings and interpretations of my work. When my viewers connect with me on a very intimate level. When i become very vulnerable, yet, Im always left inspired, humbled and motivated to continue.
