We recently connected with Tatiana Reyes and have shared our conversation below.
Tatiana , thanks for taking the time to share your stories with us today Do you think folks should manage their own social media or hire a professional? What do you do?
I am a one woman show over here! I manage all of my own social media accounts. I respond to all messages myself. If someone were to go to my Instagram page not only would they see a little sense of my humor but they will also find educational videos, client stories, home tours, etc.
Tatiana , before we move on to more of these sorts of questions, can you take some time to bring our readers up to speed on you and what you do?
I started my Real Estate career working as an Office Administrator for a top producing Real Estate Office out of Oakland, Ca. During that time I assisted nearly 100 agents in building their business, assisting with their transaction documents, and creating their marketing pieces. I saw how successful some of the agents were and I knew I could do it for myself. I learned so much about how to successfully educate and guide a client through one of the biggest transactions of their life. About a year later I got my real estate license and started selling houses for myself. Now, I assist people with buying, selling, and investing in real estate all over The Bay Area.
Many people have a dream of owning a home. However, it can be a very daunting experience. My goal is to educate people as best as possible for them to be able to make smart decisions when buying or selling real estate. And I will hold their hand every step of the way! I pride myself on being a problem solver. I will always find a way to be of service to others whether it’s before, during, or after a real estate transaction.
What sets me apart is that I am not a salesperson, I am a relationship person. I don’t believe in “selling” someone a house. If it is meant for them, it will be for them.
My clients are the center of my business. I want all of my future clients to know that I treat everyone as if they were my family. I am honest and authentic and work very hard for my clients and I always add my personal touch. I will always go the extra mile: If I have to move boxes into your garage and scrub your floors to get your home ready to sell, I will do it!
Being a Realtor is a lot harder than it looks but I enjoy every moment of it and wouldn’t trade it for the world.
Any advice for growing your clientele? What’s been most effective for you?
The biggest way I have built my clientele is through referrals from family, friends, and as I call them, my forever clients. These people already know me, like me, and trust me and their referrals are the biggest compliment I can receive! I am very big on maintaining relationships with and being available to my clients and keep in touch with them after their sale. Something happens to your house? I have a vendor recommendation to help you. Your mom needs to sell her house? I can assist her. I like to be that problem solver for them. A fun thing I like to do around certain holidays or when I’m in the area is to pop by my clients houses and bring them little gifts or a treat to let them know I’m thinking of them.
I also get a lot of clients from Instagram. They see my videos and posts and when they have a real estate related question or want to buy or sell a house I am always a DM away.
I also think being authentic helps a lot. What you see is what you get with me!
Let’s talk about resilience next – do you have a story you can share with us?
One transaction in particular comes to mind. I was working with a first time home buyer and they had sought out their own lender I hadn’t worked with before to fund their purchase. In a real estate transaction you have certain contract timelines to meet as the buyer. These timelines are normally dictated by your lender and can risk the deposit you put down on a house if they aren’t met. During the transaction there were always issues popping up with the lender and timelines kept getting pushed back. I would call and email the lender multiple times a day and would get no response. My clients almost lost the house because their lender couldn’t meet their own timelines. I felt so bad for my client but in the end after a lot of persistence on my end, they got the house! Moral of the story: choose your lender wisely and choose a Realtor who will fight hard for you!
