Tatiana, thanks for joining us, excited to have you contributing your stories and insights. What’s something you believe that most people in your industry (or in general) disagree with?

In my industry i think the most difficult part and where we can find differences opinion is the tendency of makeup, the viral makeup that we can see on social media.

Tatiana, love having you share your insights with us. Before we ask you more questions, maybe you can take a moment to introduce yourself to our readers who might have missed our earlier conversations?

My name is Tatiana Pelaez, I’m 37 years old and I’m a mom of two beautiful babies. I’m originally from Peru and i moved to MD in 2021 with all my family. In my country i have experience worked to do makeup on TV shows, brides, editorial and social. With more than 5 years of experience and training in Mexico, Argentina and Peru.
Now my residence is in Derwood/ Rockville. My principal challenge was start from zero to build my new portafolio and the language.
When you are new in a city, make relationships it’s very important, I am proud of me because i work hard every day for my business and for grow step by step.
The relation that i try to build with my clients is in base of a lot confidence and always i try to make them fell comfortable with my job.

Can you tell us about what’s worked well for you in terms of growing your clientele?

My strategy to gain clientele has been the recommendation of my clients. This has allowed me to grow little by little and for more people to know about my talent and get to know my work. mouth to mouth is very important for an small business.

We’d love to hear about how you keep in touch with clients.

Achieving a client’s dissatisfaction is not easy. Post-sales work is very important, although I am dedicated to makeup, one would think that post-sales is not necessary, but in reality it is one of the most important points for my business and achieving long-term relationships. I try to stay in touch after the service, to ask how they felt with the attention, with the hair styling service, to see if it had the durability they expected, etc. I always try to get feedback on each of my services and I try to rescue everything that helps me continue growing.
